Sounds to me like a car dealer bought some used cars at auction and hired some guys to drive them to the lot.
That is one of the better explanations I’ve heard. There is a non-zero probability that it is true.
Multiple State registrations (plates) though, how does *that* fit? and they were not dealer plates.
