US Government Admits 2nd "Chinese" Cyberhack Exposed Military Intel
Zerohedge ^ | June 12, 2015 | Tyler Durden

In what Rep Mike Rogers called "the mother of all spear-phishing attacks," AP reports a second cyberattack linked to China appears to have gained access to the sensitive background information submitted by intelligence and military personnel for security clearances, according to several U.S. officials. Coming on the same day as the US Senate failed to pass a cyber-security shield bill and China's urhging US to reduce military activities in The South China Sea, 'anonymous' official sources noted this second cyberbreach of federal records could dramatically compound the potential damage.

The US government does IT surprisingly poorly.

Look at the Obamacare web site fiasco.
Look at the IRS software upgrade fiasco.
Look at the State Dept email fiasco.

You think Dept of Defense is a lot better? It isn’t.

That or they are blaming China when the real guilty party is a pack of liberal activists.

This would be a good time to check fire prevention tactics, equipment, supplies, etc, at the Los Alamos National Labs.

China and the US (the west?) are in a cyberwar. China is winning.

Actually, I think the Chinese cyberwar against America is like the rest of the wars being waged against America.

The US isn't even fighting back and is barely even trying to play "DE-fense".

Our enemies have an objective and are trying to win. We aren't even in the game.

So, yeah; they're winning and we're losing.

If only we could elect some good, strong, Conservative political leaders, who would lead us to victory. If only. If only.

Here is a question to to consider and discuss. Did “free” trade give China the ability to pull this off?

I find all the recent IT hacks suspicious- we managed all these years and not had breaches like these in the past year. I truly believe we have 5th column destroying America and it’s citizens on purpose. All under Obama’s watch. Not a breach- all being done on purpose according to the “plan”.

Again I ask: what if it was NOT the Chinese or even a foreign entity? Remember: these are the same people who told us the north Koreans hacked a movie studio.

How can you guys be so sanguine about this?

The Chicoms have the personel files of every single federal employee. Does that include military? Intelligence? State? FBI? Treasury?

And now the intelligence files? Isn't anybody concerned?

Of course concerned, frightened, two of my children were in military, Iraqi Freedom.

But what can we do? Our President, Congress, Senate leaders are bought and paid for- being black-mailed and the loyalists are in the minority.

Obama has removed top Generals and Officers who refused to betray Americans; Obama has media in his pocket and will do his bidding no matter what. Sure they throw a hissy fit now and then- but if they wanted to, they could take him down and others. But they too are afraid of the Justice Dept coming after them like they did several reporters.

Obama is unleashing hell on earth in his last year- and who will stop him?

That information should not have been connected to the Internet. All defense computing systems should be NetBSD, customized and hardened. It’s the most stable system with the kernel isolated from user software. The same operating system can be embedded in many kinds of devices.

"And now the intelligence files? Isn't anybody concerned?"

I'm afraid that our nation, split into political and social factions loyal to foreign interests, is rotting and no longer has the will to fight. My small suggestion to Canada, focus on your wealth of natural resources and developing products from those. And become as self-sufficient as possible. In the near future, Americans won't be able to buy much at all. Most of the majority with incomes derived from government with be unemployed and will suffer pension cuts.

After the bond market collapses, commodities may be the only way for investors to keep money.

Isn't anybody concerned?

Of course I'm concerned. Also various other reactions akin to "outraged, horrified, terrified, worried, betrayed, etc".

Perhaps I should write a terse letter to someone? To whom would you suggest?

As I intimated; perhaps we could start taking elections (and their results) seriously. More than that, I don't know what else to do... Lifelock?

(Engedi) But what can we do?

We can look for the "Made in USA" label instead of the lowest price. "Made in USA" is still out there if you look.

Of course, the other side of the coin is that many of those "Made in USA" companies strongly support the homosexual agenda, so in some cases you may have to choose your poison. If that's a factor for you, then you can use HRC.org's buyer's guide to help you choose.

"We need to get the manchild under control"

That is not going to happen, seemingly.

"...and then gone. 2017 can’t come soon enough."

Yup.

It should say “Made in USA by Mexicans.” I mean, what does that really mean anymore? And yes, these companies have chosen to support a liberal social agenda.

As for quality, it depends on what you are buying. I want the best quality even if it is made on the other side of the world. Let everyone earn my business with the best quality for the price.

It should be easy enough to exclude China’s access to our part of the Internet.
