Besides the elecoral votes, Nevada also provided money—the Comstock Lode produced tons of silver for the war effort. Nevada also grew after statehood. Las Vegas would be in Arizona, but for a southern shift in Nevada’s border. Nevada also added territory to the east at Utah territory’s expense.
