LOL! IF this is somehow a “fact”, I want all my tax money returned. NOW!
I’m a conservative, not a libertarian or anarchist, so I am glad that the governor and the state assembly recognize the need to raise SOME money for the public schools and for the state universities. Holy Cow, Nevada ain’t Massachusetts or Maryland—we have no state income tax, a cap on property taxes, no business income taxes. I support a govt with limited ends, but one that can meet those ends. Last year, the ballot proposal for a 2% margins tax was crushed, but this was because a lot of people preferred the other tax initiative to increase taxes on mining. That one lost, too, but it was 50.3% to 49%.7. I think that the mining tax would have won approval if anyone had campaigned FOR it, but nobody did. Anyway, the headline is wrong: Nevada isn’t typical of anything, including itself.
Sandoval is a lousy Gov. he doesn’t do anything about the illegals. The economy isn’t improving as much as other states.
Laxalt joined Gregg Abbotts suit against Obama over Sandoval’s objection.
30 percent of the overcrowded and 50th place Nevada public
schools are illegal kids. Nevada is spending at least $12k per illegal per year for their education.
Unemployment is still real high here as is foreclosures.
Sandoval you don’t raise taxes when the economy is in the toilet.
Also, IMHO Wayne Root would make a great replacement for Harry Reid.
Well they have been in office almost 4 and a half months already.
I prefer to just think of it as us and them.
Nevada is MUCH more conservative than Minnesota.
Other than the wind during some seasons, Reno is nice.
Wayne Allen Root is not credible.
Sod farm?
Parking Lot?
Big drive in movie theater?
TERM LIMITS, NOW AND FOREVER!
Burning Man
Wayne Allen Root failed to mention two facts:
1. Nevada’s tax burden is STILL among the lightest in the US ( NO personal income tax!) and
2. The funds raised will pay for universal “school choice” — which most Conservatives understand will allow PARENTS some power to improve their kids’ schools.
IMHO, there’s more to being a “Conservative” than just being a tax-cutter....
