Former First Lady Barbara Bush is pledging to stay uncharacteristically quiet during the upcoming presidential election unless somebody attacks her son, Jeb.
In an interview with her granddaughter Jenna Bush Hagar for NBC's "Today" show, she said, "I've promised that during this next campaign season, I will not talk."
Celebrating her 90th birthday at the family summer home in Kennebunkport, Maine, she added, "I'm going to stop voicing my opinion and sticking up for things I think are right except my boy. I think he's brilliant.".....

April 25, 2013: Tough love: Barbara Bush throws cold water on Jeb Bush presidency
Hes by far the best qualified man, but no. I really dont. I think its a great country, there are a lot of great families and its not just four families or whatever, Barbara Bush said, when asked about the possibility of a President Jeb Bush. There are other people out there that are very qualified and weve had enough Bushes.
I dont think hell run, she added."....

Some of the most effed up people I know are brilliant.
Little Jebbie still hasn’t declared officially if he will run or not.
Jebster for the next President of Mexico.
Does Barbara say here that she thinks he's not going to run? Did I read that right?
That would be unfortunate. I think we need him in the race until at least Florida.
IMHO he's NOT the threat to a conservative ascending to the nomination that everyone is saying. It's Rubio we need to watch out for.
We need Jeb to drop out AFTER Florida, AFTER he has split the favorite son vote with Rubio. If Rubio takes all the GOPe money because Jeb doesn't run, we've got some trouble here.
Rubio is the biggest threat, not Jeb.
The date on that is 2013.
The Bushes weren’t ready to hit the trail.
Re Rubio:
June 8, 2015
“....In what is perhaps the most disappointing result for a leading candidate, Florida U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio received support from just nine percent of respondents. Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina received support from five percent as did retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson....”
Yep.
Less’ just bring in all them Mehhiccan Democrat BALLOT-B0X-STUFFERS..............
....’an all will be JUST FINE!!! (FOR US DHIMMOCRATS!)
I didn’t notice that. Thanks.
NBC reporter Jenna Bush interviewing Barbara Bush about Jeb Bush. That tells you everything you need to know.
Any doubt it is off to the races ?
Sununu has a book out now also.
How convenient. So GHWB was a kind man, and considerate, and wise, and conservative......
Isn’t it time to look at a candidates Beliefs instead of his personality ?
There has been no debate, no real campaign. What I said is based on an appraisal of charisma, telegenics and speaking ability. Jeb has little of that mix, Rubio, unfortunately (for our two best conservative candidates as well), has it in spades.
I saw part of that interview with Bret Baier yesterday. NOW it's okay to talk about how upset GHW Bush is about Iraq and what's happening....
[”I’m going to stop voicing my opinion and sticking up for things I think are right except my boy. I think he’s brilliant.”..... ]
Enough said.
Happy 90th birthday. Now shut up!
Former Secretary Clinton has dedicated her life to serving and engaging people across the world in democracy, said National Constitution Center Chairman Governor Jeb Bush. These efforts as a citizen, an activist, and a leader have earned Secretary Clinton this years Liberty Medal.Yup, Mrs. Bush's third child is some kind of brilliant.
