The Chaplain of the House of Representatives is so sensitive to others’ beliefs that even though he’s given 44 prayers this session of the House, he hasn’t said the word “Jesus” once, and will not say it.

From Roll Call:

The House chaplain has not made one reference to Jesus in the 44 prayers he has given in the 114th Congress. Conroy, who became the chaplain in 2011, consistently begins his prayers by referencing “eternal God” or “gracious God” and usually concludes them by saying, “May all that is done this day be for your greater honor and glory.”

Wow, thank God (literally) that most are not limited to your stunningly narrow view of possibilities. Maybe try doing a little historical reading and you will see that many of the founders felt God’s hand in the creation of America...God’s hand has been recently in helping convert millions to Him. I didn’t say anything about Mao, the communists, or what they did. I was referencing God. Let me make this simple enough for even someone as limited as you to understand. God is good, evil is bad...God is never evil.

House Chaplain will fit right in after the Raptures, leading people into the Chrislam blasphemies.

“He is so sensitive to the unbelief of others that he has become just like them.” What an insightful post!

Our nation was created by Jesus Christ

Please explain to me exactly, why if the country was created by Jesus, NONE of the founding documents reference that name. I don't recall any mention in the Federalist Papers. Paine certainly doesn't as he flat out hated Christianity.

many of the founders felt God’s hand in the creation of America

Vague to the point of being meaningless and it has nothing to doing with Jesus creating the US. Many of the founding fathers were non Christian deists.

If a father sells his daughter into slavery, is that evil?

Jesus is one third of the Trinity. When you speak of Jesus CHRIST you are speaking of God, so the founders named God and pled for God's blessings upon the land and the people, thus Jesus CHRIST is included in the pleadings to God.

That said, it could be that God has blessed America for it's making a refuge for Jews and since 1948 Israel. That is not so much in play anymore, what with lop ears running his oligarchs' regime to destroy America as a We The People Republic.

Many of the founders did not conflate God and Jesus. Jesus for them was irrelevent since they were not Christian. The only invocation to any higher power that I see in the founding documents is an oblique reference to a Creator in the Declaration of Independence. The Declaration was composed by Jefferson who was certainly not a Christian, so there was not conflation in his mind.

For the founders that were Christian, they did not see fit to put religious language into the Constitution.

If a fool misunderstands the Bible is he right?

You do realize that you know that God exists and is good right? It is deep within you. One proof that you may want to ponder on is that you have never made a decision without justification...no one has. It is a universal truth that everyone in history of the world has HAD to justify every single decision they ever made or will make. Where does that need fit in with evolution? It doesn’t...it only fits in with a higher power...whom we are trying to reason subconsciously that we are doing some good to conform to His laws. Man in his weakness oftentimes perverts those laws with evil intent, but that is because of man’s weakness not God’s.

I think it is a good thing if you read the Bible, but read it for understanding rather than to try to incriminate God. Remember, it was written actually by God through man, and is much more intellectually deep than scanning through it will allow understanding. The Bible is very layered throughout...you will garner more understanding each time you read it. But, first you must study it with open heart enough to begin to understand what is meant.

Best of luck to you in this endeavor that I really hope you enter into. It will change your life forever in a very positive way if you do this. It did mine and everyone I know who has done the same. An open heart is required though and patience.

We have the freedom of religion...to believe as we will...God grants each of us free will and the Constitution he helped author does the same in that regard.

The government published bibles for schools with taxpayer funds. Thomas Jefferson whom liberals and anti-Christians believe was Deist (means differently than what you think) wrote a bible for converting Indians that included Jesus Christ. Indeed, if you look at my tagline you will see an actual quote from Thomas Jefferson. If you visit the Jefferson Memorial in DC you will see other quotes referring to God.

The Jefferson Bible that you are refering to is a heavily redacted work. Jefferson took a bible and with a razor and paste stripped out all references to miracles. There is no mention in Jefferson's book to a resurection or to divinity. His interest in Jesus does not go farther than moral guide post.

I don't believe the book was ever mass produced and handed out to Indians. I have a hard time with the idea that 18th Century Indians could have read a King James Bible. And in any case, there was no reference to divinity, so what would they have been converted to?

Jefferson believed in God which is in evidence in his writings including the Declaration. Jefferson did not believe in a divine Jesus. He certainly did not believe that Jesus created the United States.

You need to study accurate history rather than liberal propaganda about anti Christianity. You are simply incorrect in much of what you write.

Jefferson changed the bible putting it in chronological order, which it is not in it’s traditional form. The name of his book (he didn’t call it the Jefferson Bible) was The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth.

Jefferson believed the government should not declare a religion, he actually wrote this while being President and it was eventually published by the government for incoming congressmen until supplies ran out in the 1950’s. His book/bible reflected that although, in todays world you would have been greatly insulted by his “forcing” Christianity down everyone’s throats.

You are simply incorrect in much of what you write.

Your entire meathod of argument is a lazily attempted rhetorical slight of hand.

It works like this. You make an absurd claim; "Our nation was created by Jesus Christ". I ask you to tell me where in the founding documents the name Jesus appears. Instead of answering the direct question, you tell me that I'm "limited", a "fool", need to read more history, etc. Then I get a disjointed opinion, and then I get some straw man pronouncement about which I never disagreed, like; "Jefferson believed the government should not declare a religion".

Please tell me specifically where I am incorrect about what I did say and I will address that. Please don't comment on what I didn't say. Am I incorrect that the founding documents of the country don't mention Jesus? Am I incorrect in saying that Jefferson's Bible was a heavily redacted King James Bible that removed miracle stories and references to divinity resulting in what was essentially a moral guide book?

I'm not interested in your opinions of my level of understanding or my lack of study or the darkness of my mind about which you run on and on and on.

The limits of your imagination and thinking are the problem. You set up false arguments without documentation...literally all you have offered is poor opinion. I have certainly provided you with enough material to show my argument is correct. Undoubtedly, you are set in your “opinion” and not willing to use your mind for thinking. It appears to me that you are simply going to be like a parrot and just keep repeating the same arguments.

If you do not want to believe in Jesus Christ or His influence in the creation of this nation...that is your problem...yes, it is literally a problem.

Now, you are trying to divert the discussion to a process which you wish to make up as you go so as to deflect from the evidence I have provided. That is not only insulting, it makes it difficult to really have a discussion.
