I believe Texas has Castle Doctrine as well as domicile defense.
The trespassers are lucky the residents didn’t shoot them.
Lesson here is don’t trespass and mouth off about it and expect to go home unmolested.
The youths got off easy. Ergo, it will happen again.
Even in Texas, had a resident shot and killed any of the so-called trespassers, the resident would have been charged with, and likely convicted of, murder.
