Protesters have clashed with police in the German town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, as thousands demonstrated against a meeting of Group of Seven (G7) leaders that starts on Sunday. Police responded with pepper spray when a group of marchers tried to break through their cordon; scuffles first broke out as the demonstrators, some throwing bottles, faced off with riot police. The crowd was estimated by police at 3,500 to 4,000, while organisers put it at 7,500. Playing drums, tambourines and shaking rattles, protesters shouted: "Brick by brick, wall by wall, stop G7 and make the system fall!" They carried banners reading "Fight G7 for Revolution" and "G7 go to hell! I like Putin". "I'm protesting because the big financial corporations have too much influence over politics," said Thomas Schmidbauer, 50, from Sindlsdorf in Bavaria. "Poverty isn't being tackled. It is unfair. We could organise our economies much better for the people." Rainer Lipfert, 71, wearing a red t-shirt saying "Putin sympathiser", said excluding Russian president Vladimir Putin would only escalate conflict in the Ukraine. "We're seeing the beginning of a Cold War now with both sides rattling their sabres," he said

Or is that Socialist vs. Commie?
We've nitwits around here who like Putin too.
What’s the difference?
Ah the anarchists are at it again.
Pick up your phone Alex wants to talk
What’s funny is Putin wouldn’t allow them into Russia...
They are only useful idiots where they are...
Yes, he’s happy that these anarchist are acting up. But like the anarchist who went to Russia when the Bolsheviks first came to power, these folks would find that a former communist KGB Colonel (turned president for life) would squash them as he’s done to journalist and other critics, and as the Bolsheviks did to anarchists in their days. Putin has ways of killing critics. He may cause his foreign fan club to fawn when he goes topless and claims he’s Adam Smith and Jesus Christ’s greatest paladin, but only dolts fall for him.
The Germans should use the Baltimore system and give the rioters room to destroy.
Well I just dont know what to think..........
“Whats the difference?”
We see communists and socialists as the same. They both want to take freedom away and give their rights to the state. But to each other they are as different as two things can be. Day and night would be the usual comparison. (I’d say the front and back of the same coin, but that might be confusing.)
Imagine it’s the Reformation and there is a war brewing between Catholics and Protestants. From a long way off they are both Christian and essentially the same. But from close up they’d happily kill each other. Now you have it.
In socialism it's man against man in a dehumanizing struggle
In communism, it's the other way around

>>and as the Bolsheviks did to anarchists in their days.
Orwell learned this lesson fighting with the Anarchists in the Spanish Civil War. He barely escaped Spain with his life, not due to the Fascists, but due to his “allies” on the Republican side, the Communists. They were purging Anarchists as he hightailed it out of there. This experience certainly shaped 1984 and Animal Farm, and is documented in his book Homage to Catalonia. Recommended, it’s a short read.
Nothing new about that in Germany.
Thank you for the recommendation, but I’ve already read it. I found it interesting for the reasons you state. And another observation is that Orwell seemed, at least to me, to be a sanctimonious socialist in the book. That is, I think I saw a side of him that, had he lived a normal length of life, would have kept him in state of constant agitation without peace of mind. And, lastly, I liked THE ROAD TO WIGAN PIER better than HOMAGE TO CATALONIA.
Thanks for the tip. I just got back from Barcelona and got interested in its history.
