Former President Jimmy Carter told AARP Inc. during a recent interview that many Americans hold “feelings of superiority” toward minorities.
Mr. Carter spoke on a range of subjects with the magazine, including campaign spending and lobbyists, but he made a point to say that the U.S. still is lacking in terms of safeguarding civil rights.
“The recent publicity about mistreatment of black people in the judicial and police realm has been a reminder that the dreams of the civil rights movement have not been realized. […] Many Americans still have racist tendencies or feelings of superiority to people of color,” Mr. Carter told AARP, The Hill reported Thursday.
The former president added that the politics of the 1970s have changed in such a way that he would not get the level Republican support he enjoyed as the 39th president.
“There was harmony among congressmen when I was there, and I got just as much support from Republicans as I did from Democrats. I can’t imagine myself as a successful candidate today,” Mr. Carter said, The Hill reported.

I make no apolgies for feeling superior to people who loot, burn down their own neighborhoods, and use the sophisty of “no justice no peace” as a synonym for a lynching without due process. Who consider themselves “owed” when they never made the slightest effort to graduate high school, and attempt to absolve themselves of blame for selling drugs to their own community because they “have to earn a dollah” at the expense of their own communities (and in the case of organised gang crime, don’t care if children get caught in the crossfire of their “spray and pray” tactics). I feel superior to people whose every “solution” to problems of their own making is redistribution from the hard-working productive to the leeches, and who expect as a matter of course to receive benefits in the form of “affirmative action” (which bears no relation to economic status) based on their skin color, while a poor white who worked, studied, and otherwise qualified himself as deserving help, is passed over on the basis of his white skin color (not to mention his male sex, and possibly his heterosexual status).
I won’t even go into the Detroits, the Haitis, the Zimbabwes, and the current South Africa, a fully-functioning first world nation handed in toto to black rule, which with hardly a breath became the rape capitol of the world, a place where the power grid is barely functioning, and the leader was proud to state his belief that taking a shower post-sexual intercourse was all that was necessary for AIDS prevention.
Yes, I feel that in general, white societies have been superior to that. I haven’t seen any wholesale exodus by whites to African nations to enjoy better lives under black rule, but I have seen the opposite, even as those who come here by hook or by crook characterise the whites as their “oppressors”. It must unique in history for those who castigate the dominant culture as “oppressors”, to also follow those “oppressors” when they enact “white flight”.
I’ll pay attention to the likes of Carter when he moves himself and his family to the middle of the hood. I’ll pay attention, but I’ll still know that he’s stupid, in that case, suicidally stupid.
Population-percentage-wise, blacks also kill and rape more whites than vice versa.

Many minorities (Irish, Italians, Jews, Asians, etal) were despised minorities for many years. They simply put their heads down with an "I'll show you attitude" and became good, hard-working Americans. What some person thinks about me has nothing to do with what I do.
