Ted states that the public will be allowed to to see the secret trade deals before they are voted on. I call BS, if the trade agreemens 6700 pages is done in secret, what secrets have to be hide. Ted is a liar in this toewn hall meeting. he supports Free Trade Agreements. How has NAFA helped Texas. Living in the Midwest, and in the state where Big Auto is headquartered, more plants to build automobiles are shuttered than are open. Saginaw, Flint (GM plants closed) Wixom (ford Plant closed and in the process of being torn apart) Kingsford (ford plant closed for years - the buildings just deteriorate). So NAFTA is a disaster. How will trad with Asia Pacific Partners be any better - China mass produces autos chevy, BMW and Volkswagen - China does not recognize patent rights so Chery cars are built. Come now Ted get your head out of Obama’s backside.

Yeah, somehow, Cruz has landed on the wrong side of this thing, as well as with the Patriot Act renewal. Not sure what happened to him, except that perhaps some of his new friend donors turned him.

Yet, new auto plants are sprouting like mushrooms from South Carolina to Texas.

Accordingly, it ain't NAFTA, it must be something that's affecting the Midwest. Like, say, unions...

I do not believe in all of the NAFTA, CAFTA and SHAFTA deals as well.

However, I will not let the liberal city officials of these states, the taxing structure or the unions walk away from being at fault for closures of these plants.

And so the closing of the auto plants in Michigan had nothing whatsoever to do with union thugs taking $60 an hour to turn a nut? I didn't know that.

I listened to the townhall the Monday after. IIRC, Ted supports fast-track and opposes the trade agreement.

He said he supports fast-track because without it a trade agreement will be impossible to reach and, because fast-track will last for 6 years, 1.5 years will be under Obama while 4.5 years could be under a Republican administration.

His explanation seemed within the bounds of reason to me.
