Because the mass media doesn’t report how many illegals are in jail for serious crimes beyond immigration, use food stamps, use “free” medical care, send their illegal children to public school - all of which someone else pays the bill.
It is just an article of faith for liberals that “strength through diversity” must be true - Never mind it has never been true. Strong societies have all been built on common culture, common law and common language period.

Nobody ever “polls” me on my cell phone. It helps that it is easy to block pollsters from calling cell phones.
I do field a lot of goofy call center people calling a land line business, demanding to speak to the owner or authorized manager, to answer non-business related political opinion polls.

I suspect that multiple polls on a given issue are conducted, activist pollsters then trumpting the results of whatever poll tells them what they want to hear.
Illegals have been here for thirty or forty years! The issues are our open borders, dealing with convicted felons filling our jails, widespread diseases brought in by illegal aliens, gang members, drug cartels, and related.
Bail out the muck and fix the leaks before dealing with the working undocumented visitors. That is, deport the criminals and gang members, and secure our borders.
Then take whatever time it needs to develop compassionate and fair policies for those already here. Include legal immigrants in the policy development to ensure it is fair to those who did not jump the line.
