SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Seven out of 10 New Yorkers want a $10.50 an hour minimum wage rate for the state, a Quinnipiac University poll found.
Democrats overwhelmingly support the idea by 92 percent. Only 41 percent of Republicans statewide agree with the higher wage rate, the poll found.

There is absolutely no positive objective achieved by the minimum wage law. Its real purpose is to reduce competition for the trade unions and make it easier for them to maintain the higher wages of their privileged members.

Good. I can think of few better places where the local economy needs to be wrecked. This will make those silly bastards grow up a bit I think.
That’s why the $15 minimum is coming, ready or not. It never polls less than that in any poll I’ve ever seen, and oftentimes higher.
How come nobody ever says:

I agree. However, to accomplish that would bring the whole house of cards crashing down. The entire world is now financed the same way, borrowed “money” paid for by printing new money. Inflation is built into the system and has been since they established the Fed.
Wonder if they also asked if people want to pay more for items and services that are provided by the minimum wage workers?
It is a fair question, and unfortunately, many may not even realize that the cost products and services will rise.
I like to use the example of a McDonalds employee. He has been buying the same sandwich for $4 for a long time. Suddenly he gets a 50% raise and his boss is forced to charge $6 for that sandwich consuming any raise in pay. Likewise for all goods and services that he purchases. He thinks that he just got a huge raise but any gain is canceled and consumed by the rise in costs (the instant inflation) to him for everything.
Im in favor of ruining NYC...the rest of NY not so much.

The really funny part about a $15 minimum is it bumps these people into higher tax brackets and when you add employer medical makes the employer cost over $20 an hour.
