I had to shut him off because of this call. Rush is losing it. Who the hell wants to listen to this insanity of the transgender world and then to top it all off the he/she called himself a conservative, ugh!

And isn't he always ridiculing the "low information" voter for focusing on this crap?

I lasted about 30 minutes and then changed stations. Came back near the end of his show and he was still on this topic.

What is going on with Rush? Is he losing it?

There has been much speculation here and offline about it.

I have every sympathy for sudden, severe hearing loss but that condition has meant that he is almost totally reliant on the printed word, including web sites. He is lucky, if one can use the term, that the Internet exists and so much information can be gleaned from it rather than the phone, TV or in-person conversations.

But his daily feast of text has resulted in a tendency to laboriously read entire pieces on the air rather than just the relevant paragraphs or giving the audience credit for quickly finding the full article themselves (we have the net too!). This, for example, would be an effective, limited use of Twitter for him since the links could be issued contemporaneously (with or without his standard web site).

‘Hey did you see the Washington Post story?’
Answer: Yes! So give us the Rush views on it instead of reading it aloud!

Three hours of Rush’s opinion is, obviously, the show format that built a huge audience. That format is itself in danger of making its own transition into a Paul Harvey-style news review with only occasional comments. Or, to put it uncharitably, there is far too much filler on offer.

Hillary boring? She’s still about halfway to the presidency. That is a frightening prospect and certainly not boring, especially considering she is openly flouting the law. In any case, she is much more interesting than one mentally ill person mutilating his anatomy among a nation of 320 million.

Focusing on the same things as the Trash Media in order to demonstrate that the Trash Media are, well, trashy is a futile strategy for building and keeping an audience when that audience is already desperate to avoid the Trash Media.

Good post. First hour of Rush’s 6/3/15 show nearly over, and much of it has been consumed — yet again — with Bruce “Caitlyn” Jenner. Enough already...
