SURVEILLANCE POWERS LAPSE WITH NO DEAL IN SENATE

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The National Security Agency lost its authority at midnight to collect Americans' phone records in bulk, after GOP Sen. Rand Paul stood in the way of extending the fiercely contested program in an extraordinary Sunday Senate session.

But that program and several other post-Sept. 11 counter-terror measures look likely to be revived in a matter of days. With no other options, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, in an about-face, reluctantly embraced a House-passed bill that would extend the anti-terror provisions, while also remaking the bulk phone collections program.

Although the lapse in the programs may be brief, intelligence officials warned that it could jeopardize Americans' safety and amount to a win for terrorists. But civil liberties groups applauded as Paul, who is running for president, forced the expiration of the once-secret program made public by NSA contractor Edward Snowden, which critics say is an unconstitutional intrusion into Americans' privacy.

John McCain is a back-stabbing cowardly little weasel, with fetid turds for brains.

And those are his good points.

When I first heard "Paul blames GOP for ISIS", the very first picture that popped into my mind was McQueeg over there backslapping with the gang of thugs that had duped him into thinking they were our "allies", and I realized that although Rand was gonna take a lot of flak for that comment, he was -not- entirely wrong.

I didn’t vote for him at all so count me out the “we” that did not only once but twice.

As for the seriousness of the topic if you don’t think Obama and the majority of government isn’t the enemy keep voting for the scum.

"You" don't elect anyone. "We" is clearly an inclusive term for the American people, of which I assume you are a part of, if you are a legal voter. You cannot be counted out.

Obama didn't get in office by slipping on a banana peel. The American electorate owns it. We conservatives are responsible by our collective apathy, laziness, and bickering (disunity).

As for naming our enemy, where are the conservatives when they do not DEMAND A NATIONAL DEBATE ON ISLAM?

That is what I'm talking about.

Not in the terms of voting for Obama nor as any part of anything that ass says or his liberal scum counterparts say when they start out saying “the American people have spoken..” I vote and I didn’t vote far that POS so when you mention “We” and include the American people who did don’t include me... completely separate group of individuals that may live in America but damn sure aren’t Americans.

Get rid of the liberal media, the liberals in congress, the brainwashing educational institues aka high priced socialist enslavement camps and there will be no need for a national debate on islam because the remaining individuals get it.
