I feel like I need to address the elephant-in-the-room on this blog, since you guys have been with me through thick and thin. When I first got engaged, you were the first ones I wanted to tell.
I guess you have seen by now that the wedding — that was supposed to happen last weekend — was called off. I’m sure you’ve seen this has been all over the media, but this is a painful time for family and friends and I would just really appreciate your prayers.
I know God’s plan is greater than anything else, and Tripp and I are in Alaska beginning to rebuild our lives under much different circumstances than we anticipated.
Thank you for all of your love and support.

But having come, you must have realized the truth. (See post 58).
The thing is that she is only 24, has been exposed a lot in the media and to the public, and done fine with it, although she is a Christian and conservative.
She has shown that she has charisma, is eloquent, is fearless and tough, and smart, and comfortable with all forms of media, print, camera, internet, and is just fine with a hostile media.
What we have seen from her, age 17 through 24, shows that she has what it takes to run for office as a conservative, and handle campaigning, if she ever chooses to do so.
Only 24, and already I bet she could handle herself as a congresswoman, we will know in a few years if she is going to do politics.
Mark my words — Bristol is destined for greatness and in less than 20 years from now, her naysayers will begin to wonder how they could been so silly in their statements.
She would make our current CM look like a fool.
Waite Don Young is a fool.
