They told him they were going to slit his throat, and they were dragging him toward the woods,' Chief Deputy Don Bass said according to The Clarion-Ledger.
He said the men then planned on dumping the body after killing him.
When asked if the incident might have something to do with recent gangs stating they would attack any police officers they encountered on sight, Bass said: 'At this point in time I don't care.'
Regardless of their motivation, the men were quickly foiled when Frazier managed to unlock the back doors of his squad car using a pop mechanism that he activated on his key chain.
That sent Lucas, Frazier's police dog, running after his owner and the men.
The dog bit at least one of the attackers before they ran off, jumping into the Town Car Frazier first stopped to inspect and speeding away from the scene.
Frazier suffered a two-and-a-half-inch cut to his forehead from what a doctor believes was a box cutter and multiple other bodily injuries.
He was taken to a local hospital and released.

So why weren’t some descriptions given, so the public CAN BE AWARE?
No surprise, have to read about this in the foreign press!
I watched an episode of COPS several years ago that had a police dog. The police were chasing a big, muscular guy. They cornered the guy, and he decided to fight. He had some martial arts training, and he was kicking the crap out of several policemen. This skinny Deputy walks up with his police dog. He is just standing there when the big guy decides to kick him, too. The Deputy went down, but he let the dog go. It was like a Bugs Bunny cartoon. The dog went up one side of the big guy, and down the other, chewing all the way. When the dog got done with him, the big guy was trying to hold what was left of his shorts in front of his private parts. The dog had ripped off the rest of his clothes. The dog was just sitting there....smiling.
ping!
How so?
Cool. I wasn’t aware of the door popper. Makes sense. Hahah - no one seemed to catch that I typed the word god instead of dog. Major typo!
Heroic story and not a scrap of evidence for it besides a cut on the cop’s forehead? Dashcam wasn’t working. No plates on the car, and frankly, if three gangbangers are gonna kill a cop at a deserted rest stop, they’re going to shoot him in the head, not drag him into the woods to slit his throat. They’re going to go to a deserted rest stop and one guy is going to pretend to be unconscious in his car while the other two hide somewhere and wait for a cop to happen by and check out the car? Nope, not buying it.
What do you think happened? Serious question.
What I suspect is that he made up the whole thing, either to cover up that he was doing something on duty that he shouldn’t have been doing, or to make himself a hero. Or both. Reading some other comment threads on this case, I’m not the only one with suspicions, and apparently cops are saying this doesn’t pass the sniff test.
Same story reported the other week.
Interesting twist to hear about plans to ambush and dump him.
Between that and total fear of dogs, guess what kind of sons these were?

20+ years ago in my area a deputy on a lonely road called in that he’d been shot by a pair of hispanics in a dark sedan.
A massive LEO response followed. A day later the investigators determined the deputy accidentally shot himself and made up the whole incident.
There was also a case in Arizona where a deputy claimed to have been in a firefight with a drug cartel out in the desert. After defending him for a while, they fired him when his stories got more and more wild.
I know a couple k9 officers. The button opens the door and pops it open. They train so the dog will know that is a command to rush out.
That said, It sounds like a questionable story. I hope doctors checked out the cut for hesitation marks. ...and head wounds bleed profusely, so, it could be the officer’s blood on the dog. ...another thing to check.
Finally, if you’re lying in wait to kill a cop, why don’t you have guns? You know he has one.
Whatever it was, it involved the dog (blood on the dog). Beautiful dog. Glad he wasn’t hurt at least. Maybe the dog attacked him somehow? LOL
At least he did get a slice of medium rare perp, fresh off the bone. lol
