BURLINGTON, Vt. — Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont began drawing implicit contrasts with Hillary Rodham Clinton on Tuesday in the race for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination, as he played the liberal purist in throwing down policy gauntlet after gauntlet – a $15 minimum wage, $1 trillion for public works jobs, a “Medicare-for-all” system of universal health care — in his first campaign rally since declaring his candidacy last month.
The rally ended with a sing-a-long of the folk anthem “This Land is Your Land” as Mr. Sanders, known as a no-nonsense and rumpled antipolitician, shook hands and frequently flashed a delighted grin.

No. He’d be a great alternative to Clinton. Can you imagine a debate between Ted Cruz and Bernie Sanders? That would be quite compelling.

Actually, I disagree with that statement. He is running because he think she IS to centrist.
Given that primaries are often decided by the true believers he has a chance. Especially if he is willing to actually speak to her record. I think he can be beaten in the general election easier than Hilary but I think he might take the nomination from her. If not he will make her move left.

I don’t think so. He’s been ripping both Hitlary and Slick about the way they go about extorting money. Sanders is a loon, but at least I think he really believes what he says. OTOH, when either of the Clinton’s mouths are moving, you know what’s being said is a lie. I doubt that either of them have knowingly ever uttered anything that’s truthful.
I believe both major parties are bought and paid for by special interests, corporate elites etc.
Obamacare pumps more money into private insurance companies and the private health care industry from the people’s pockets with new more expensive insurance, increased copays etc.

If Bernie really cared about America, he would run as a 3rd party candidate. If he doesn’t he’s just screwing with the people.
Well your post is a refreshing one! I personally would not endorse Mr. Sanders nor vote for him in any election and if he wants to run let him run but he’s a dark horse that he imagines himself to be.
Some people , e.g., Sanders do not understand how valuable
they are in just what they are doing within the present.
Suppose Sheriff Joe Arpaio wanted to run for Prez?
Where would that leave him & his office & what he established over all these years?
Ben Carson is another one- he talks a good talk but he can’t walk the talk nor walk the walk. He’s a total newcomer to politics w/o ANY Political feet on the ground domestic and foreign.
Carson is very much loose lips that sink ships and imho has only been brought forth into the public eye by the msm & also conservatives and has been modelled by conservatives as a answer and a mirror of black man who does not espouse the drivel of the current dope in the wh. Carson is so out of his league is not funny and should really stick to following his post-career as a neurosurgeon from Hopkins and begin teaching full time and/or publishing.

as much as I never would want him as a president and believe he would be as disaster for the united states at least he is one of the few democrats that is honest. he just has no sense of economics or how negative an impact his policy’s would have.
