ansel12, nickcarraway asked the question in his initial post as to whether Buckley was pro homosexual marriage. Another poster asked him “Are you serious?”
nickcarraway then replied that Buckley was fairly liberal, socially, as explanation that the question was indeed serious.
nickcarraway never stated that Buckley supported homosexual marriage, and I did not see any post after the links to Buckley’s opinion on the subject where nickcarraway asked the question again.
I think there’s been a miscommunication on this subject in this thread.

Nearly all print media is dying a slow death. NR now joins the other dinosaurs in the liberal tar pit. I do believe, though, that there’s still room for a hard-hitting conservative/patriot magazine.
Basic subscription rates will need to start at about $100 to make up for the lack of advertisers, although a top advertising department should be able to land advertising contracts with select companies. I would never rely on the leftists at Google to fairly rank a conservative site in order to bring in advertising revenue to a company.

I have heard some, only half-jokingly, suggest that in ten years conservatives would be defending gay marriage as a sacred institution. It is almost funny that the fall was so much quicker.
I doubt William F Buckley would be turning in his grave; he like his successors wanted dinner party/donor respectability. There were purges under Buckley of wrong (in other words unfashionable) thinkers; we may well have future purges of the new wrong thinkers on gay marriage. The only surprise might be how fast that happens. Ten years may have been way too optimistic.

You are lying, but I like being called young when I was reading Buckley in the 1960s, and was a decades long subscriber, until they moved left after his death.
If you read the thread you will find that many posters saw the same trolling coming from nickcarraway, it wasn’t just a simple, single, innocent question.
