MSNBC Host Melissa Harris-Perry --
"Kids Belong To Communities,
Not To The Parents or To The Family"

We have never invested as much in public education as we should have, because we’ve always had a kind of private notion of children. ‘Your kid is yours, and totally your responsibility’. We haven’t had a very collective notion, of ‘these are our children’.

So part of it is, we have to break through our kind-of private idea that kids belong to their parents, or kids belong to their families, and recognize that kids belong to whole communities. Once it’s everybody’s responsibility, and not just the household’s, then we start making better investments.

"For Aristotle, the irreducible core of a polity is the family. Thus, Aristotle begins his Politics not with a single individual, but with a description of a man and a woman together in the family, without which the rest of society cannot exist. He says: «First of all, there must necessarily be a union or pairing of those who cannot exist without one another.» Later, he states that «husband and wife are alike essential parts of the family.» The family is the nursery of virtue, which reaches its perfection in the polis. «Every state is [primarily] composed of households», Aristotle asserts. Without the family, there are no villages, which are associations of families, and without villages, there is no polis. In other words, without households—meaning husbands and wives together in families—there is no state. In this sense, the family is the prepolitical institution. The state does not make marriage possible; marriage makes the state possible. Homosexual marriage would have struck Aristotle as an absurdity since a polity cannot be founded on its necessarily sterile relations. This is why the state has a legitimate interest in marriage—because, without it, it has no future." - Robert R. Reilly, Making Gay Okay: How Rationalizing Homosexual Behavior Is Changing Everything, "Homosexuality and the Greeks"

“Boy Scouts president Bob Gates: The ban on gay Scout leaders is unsustainable”

“If you glance at the headlines, you might think this was a by now familiar I’ve-searched-my-conscience statement of moral “evolution” by a political figure. Nope. Gates isn’t trying to persuade here. He’s warning BSA officials in fairly dire terms: The courts are coming for us. We either change our policy now, “voluntarily,” and hopefully retain some modicum of control over our membership standards or we continue to resist, watch Scouting troops break away in protest or be shut down as punishment by the national organization, and have some judge somewhere ultimate decide that the BSA’s “duty to God” is incompatible with modern antidiscrimination law.”

Was this not the stupid woman who apologized for insulting Romney? They never learn, they can’t learn, they are indoctrinated from an early age—no amount of truth will change anything.

Very glad you posted this. It provides much needed background and context to what we’re seeing play out as the immoral state-media-so called intelligensia attack many norms that have protected the rights of families and the individual.
The shame is, so much of the education, facts and truths our FR community is aware of, and archived here, seldom pierces our fellow citizen’s ignorance.

There are most likely many affluent and politically influential homosexual couples and singles wanting to adopt kids.

I forbade my children from exposing private matters to the government schools without a lawyer present.

If they did turn out to be approval-sucks and “turn us in” for something (can’t imagine what), they would have to move out of our house and into government father’s house. I would boot them in an instant.
