The criminal fine could exceed the Toyota fine of $1.2Bil.

I’m sure a lot of people at GM knew about this and did nothing, especially the prior CEOs. If the evidence is there, should someone be prosecuted? I think yes. It would definitely send a strong message that this isn’t to be tolerated anymore.

This stuff drives me crazy. A fine provides GM with no incentive to do better.

Didn’t GM go light years out of the way to crucify Toyota over what later turned out to be fake “uncontrolled acceleration” events?
