At least it wasn`t his SON.
I skimmed the article - I’m guessing her daughter was young - not 23 or something?
When my twin daughters were little (5 or 6?) they would wear their princess dresses ALL the time (one was white, the other pink.) They are up in the keepsake bin - tattered, but good memories.
I have some old pictures of when I was a kid. For a span of two summers I have the same green and white striped t-shirt on! The ones from camp are disturbing though - two weeks. With no laundry. (I’m a guy!)
” For a span of two summers I have the same green and white striped t-shirt on! “
When I was young I never wore a shirt during the summer!
Lol! Bump :)
Just gave a dull stare at the entire article and was overwhelmed by the amount of “I”s in the article. Typical self absorbed liberal.
I thought of something like that as yet another possibility for a "complicated" article, though I didn't mention it in my last post. Maybe with enough social progress, metaphorical children be more commonplace in a few years.
I was also wondering a bit about this author's upbringing. I was thinking more, though, about if her expectations about princesses, sugar, and TV were shaped in childhood.
What about her ability as a parent? I'm a bit relieved that the author apparently didn't use "Princesses Are Bad" to set some rigid ban (and then write an article about how bad princesses are and how the daughter will appreciate this lesson someday)--but because she does write "the least I can do is let her fly her own freaky flag," I wonder what'll happen when Grace gets older.
Lady, You do have a way with words. Love it.
I don’t see an issue.
We allow my kids to dress as they like with they clothes they have. We dress modestly.
That is our only rule.
Aside from that, whatever they like is fine.
If they end up too cold, or too hot, or too uncomfortable, they fix it next time.
We allow our children to take responsibility for things themselves in small ways first, and big ways later.
We are proud of them all.
Thanks, that’s a great photo, thanks for posting!
