I was a Democrat until 2008. No more. I couldn’t stomach what was happening to that party. I still can’t believe what the evil of society did to it. They basically took possession of it. Demonic possession.
I was a Republican until 2004. I couldn’t stomach what was happening to that party. The Republicans had both houses and the presidency and they chose to be the party of Washing DC while singing "me too" in harmony.

As you say, the Dem leadership was overrun by the hard-core left. Over the years, they have tried to limit the truth of who they are and what they want. They are becoming bolder and bolder.
In the meantime, the Republicans have been flooded with moderate and conservative democrats. Both parties have slid to the left.
