(MyFoxBoston.com) -- Breastfeeding is in Vogue and, now, in Elle magazine.
The cover of Elle Australia features supermodel Nicole Trunfio with her young son. Inside, it features a photo of Trunfio breastfeeding the baby.
The photo is going viral, along with the hashtag "normalize breast feeding."
Trunfio posted the picture on her Instagram page with the caption, "Whether you breastfeed or not, we gave birth, we are women, we are mothers. Thank you to Elle for being so bold and making such an encouraging, positive and healthy statement. #WomenUnite."

That’s what breasts are there for. I don’t get the big deal.
LOL!
Not Guilty! Definitely beyond a shadow of a doubt Not Guilty.
on the list of big “So-Whats” today, this makes page one.
at least it wasn’t Hillary....or OBIE!
Australia is very different than the USA regarding public nudity.
Its not a big deal there.
That's funny. I listened to a lot of radio shows that Jean Shepherd (Christmas Story) did back in the 60's and 70's. He took a trip to Australia at that time and mentioned the prudish nature of the citizens numerous times. I guess they got to where we are heading a little quicker.
Women have been breastfeeding their children long before Obama came along.
Silly us.
As long as the child is really a baby, not a toddler and not a school age child I have no problem with this.
People get a little over enthusiastic about breast feeding, but it’s good to start kids off with it, and really it’s part of God’s plan so I don’t see why this is even news.
Unless, as I say, the kid is over 18 months, then I have issues.
This family - mom, and 4 daughters, all breastfed their babies. In Maryland, New Mexico, and California.
All used sense and found quiet areas, (and blankets) in public.
Nowadays in many malls, there are areas in the ladie’s room for nursing.
Did someone already mention breast feeding passing along immunities?
Add this to the child’s benefits: I understand the head’s bone structure is more attractive than if bottle fed.
In addition, no need to warm up a cold bottle of milk - - -
My boys were breastfed...I don’t follow...what’s wrong with breastfeeding??
Sorry, I have to disagree. If you are walking around and your child gets hungry, you do feed him. Don’t think it is wrong if you breastfed your kid in public. To me, breasts aren’t a sexual object. As a naturist, it is a part of the body.
True... Sydney has a nice nude beach. But then, 2 miles from me is the largest naturist resort in the U.S.
If you’re out for an extended period of time, I would have to agree with you.
As one other poster mentioned, a small cloth can keep the feeding discrete.
Your opinion isn’t out of line at all regarding the sexual connotation, but you have to remember that I don’t know what your mindset is.
There are people out there that don’t see it like you do. I have to think everyone is like them, not like you.
