The law in America in custody cases has long since moved beyond an automatic approval of the decisions of the custodial parent to a far more enlightened inquiry into the best interests of the child. Clearly it is never in the best interests of a five-year-old to grow up in tyranny. But to American leftists tyranny is a relative value, it it comes from the left, it ain't so tyrannical.

Mark Davis contends that we should accede to the wishes of the father who was certainly not free to exercise independent will on the subject. He lived in a brutal dictatorship. Nor is it clear that the father was in possession of the facts or, frankly, in possession of an ability to reason rationally. Was he not the product of relentless indoctrination just as his son was consigned to by the Clinton administration?
