UNPOPULAR OPINION: I'm a Lefty With a Gun

For years, I was what we lefties in Texas refer to as, "A bright blue dot in a big red state." I believe in recycling, social services, a woman's right to choose, and immigration. I spent a lot of time defending these things around my red friends, and bemoaning this defense around my fellow blue dots.

And then I bought a gun, and everything changed. I was shamed by the blue dots and consoled by the red. I turned purple.

When my fellow blue dots found out I owned a gun, they were shocked. Gape-mouthed and stunned to speechlessness, they usually recovered with, “What are you thinking?” or, “How could you?!”

I know I’m getting old, but just WTF is a Sex Dungeon?

Anyway, I read her entire article & the comments. Liberals really do project their inner demons onto those they disagree with. Liberals apparently suffer random notions of doing violence on others who have angered them, but without a gun are deterred from carrying them out.

A liberal with a gun fears snapping & in a moment of uncontrolled rage killing someone with a gun because having the gun makes it momentarily convenient to do so.

Liberals therefore should not have guns. They already view the world differently & should not be allowed to become even more dangerous. Bottom line.

“I believe in recycling, social services, a woman’s right to choose, and immigration.”

Interesting that she thinks being “just generally against all forms of immigration” is a conservative platform..... what a simpleton.

IIRC, the jihad mass murderer Hasan was stripped of his rank & his back salary as an officer, and reduced to the rank of private. His ugly muzzie face gets forcibly shaved every day as he is still subject to military discipline.

Don’t forget Hasan expected to die that day & get his 72 raisins. Karma’s a bitch & so is the reality it brings.

She was a statistic waiting to happen. It's one thing to shoot at paper targets. It's something totally different to shoot a human about to do harm to you when you haven't made the commitment to do so. And this is where liberals become really squeamish and squishy. All they need to do is hesitate for a second and that attacker owns that gun. In the end, she made the right move...literally, to a safer neighborhood.

I had to look at that article.

I am at a loss for words.

This is one crazy degenerate woman.

My wife's college friend, Nicolette Elena, Greek with beautiful, long, gently curly hair, (she told us "the reason people become Psychology majors is to figure out why they're crazy"), became a lesbian, went to Washington DC with Transcendental Meditation, she came back a bug-eyed gun fanatic, she had been a violent crime victim, wouldn't talk about it, "you GOTTA have guns!". She had two children in the home under the age of 10. I had to give her a Master gun lock.

People who have never seen a giant redwood that is as wide as an F350 is long and towers higher than the side of the Cotton Bowl understandably don’t know what it costs the environment when you use paper plates for every meal because you just don’t feel like washing real ones.

Um..dear? That isn't where you get paper plates.

I'm not entirely comfortable with a n00B shooter fantasizing about turning her firearm on her lane neighbors, to be honest. It argues poor instruction or poor mental hygiene or both. There is a scene in Annie Hall where Christopher Walken is driving Woody and fantasizing aloud about turning the car head-on into the oncoming traffic. It's that sort of feeling.

I have often maintained that nothing is so empowering to a woman as the ability to defend herself and the determination to use it. Buying a gun only gives you the ability. The rest is in your head, and I worry about hers.

What! You never thought about popping the clown in the lane next to you? Yeah, me neither.

You hit the nail on the head. They have crazy thoughts, because they’re crazy, delusionally thinking they’re sane, and they project the same crazy thoughts on everybody else.

Interesting insight into the insane left.

So of course they don’t think anybody should have guns, because they’re tempted to do evil and think everybody is tempted to do evil, and they don’t trust others to be able keep this insane temptation in check.

In reality it’s because of people like them that the rest of us need guns.

I am a ‘lefty’...born that way!

I write with my left hand, play golf standing on the right side of the ball, shoot left handed...and I was also born ‘Conservative’ (Read my tagline)! I practice conservation...we recycle. We have 5 1/2 acres that in at least 13 years has seen no herbicide, insecticide, or commercial fertilizer (our horses provide us with once used hay and oats for the garden) In the garden we have learned that ‘no tillage’ results in higher yields. We believe in ‘Life (and the sanctity of it), Liberty (as given to us by the founders in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights...its ‘Ten Commandments’), and the Pursuit of Happiness (to me that means without unconstitutional Government imposed encumbrances).

I am proud to be a lefty!

I know the new feeling the author is referencing. I was not raised around guns, and when I got my first gun as a young man (Walther P99 in .40, olive drab - I still have it!), I marveled the immense power in possessed in my hands. Before that, I had very little ability to defend myself against bigger and more aggressive perps. Now, I was complete, in a sense.

If anything, the seconds-long realization about my ability to kill others merely engendered decades of respect and responsibility around guns.

A conservative gets a gun and thinks "who can I protect?".

The liberal gets a gun and thinks "who can I kill?"

Yet more evidence of the mental illness that is liberalism.

I believe a good people should provide some type of safety net for those who are truly in a bad place through no fault of their own, (safety net doesn't mean generational welfare).

I agree with you, good people should, as long as they are willing. Our government has no business being in the welfare business. Stealing money from me to give to others, whom they (government) deem worthy.
