ROME, May 19, 2015 (LifeSiteNews.com) -- Pope Francis has appointed radically liberal, pro-homosexual Dominican Father Timothy Radcliffe as a consultor for the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace.

The Holy Father made the appointment on Saturday, according to Vatican Radio.

Father Radcliffe, an Englishman, author and speaker, was Master of the Dominican order from 1992 to 2001, and is an outspoken proponent of homosexuality.

"We must accompany [gay people] as they discern what this means, letting our images be stretched open,” he said in a 2006 religious education lecture in Los Angeles. “This means watching 'Brokeback Mountain,' reading gay novels, living with our gay friends and listening with them as they listen to the Lord."

In 2005, as the Vatican deliberated the admission of men with homosexual tendencies to study for the priesthood in the wake of the Church sex abuse scandal, Father Radcliffe said that homosexuality should not bar men from the priesthood, and rather, those who oppose it should be banned. ...

The original claim was fathered as Pope—countless children. If people want to throw around what appears to be clever calumny, they ought to defend the original claim. Thus far, countless is zero. That no one besides Alexander VI has been produced as fathering illegitimate children even before election indicates how false the original claim was.

And in arguably a better age, burned. If God, in His wisdom, makes me King, and Father Radcliffe my subject, I will spend more time considering that option. If he makes you King, I suggest you do the same.

So after they became pope were they no longer the father of those children? Had they not fathered those children any longer? How does that work?

Try to get that line of thinking past a modern day family court:) "Your honor, those kids are not mine....I don't owe child support...I was just elected Pope."

Exactly.

It’s not like popes are chosen from the non-clergy.

They work their way up though the ranks, starting out as priests.

So it’s OK for these priests to break their vows and have mistresses and father children out of wedlock and it’s all excused, but let Luther get married, all hell breaks loose in condemnation.

Is there no evil or corruption in which the Catholic church engages that Catholics will not condemn or excuse?

Do y’all defend the indefensible out of habit or what?

Can you admit that there is something WRONG with the situation the Catholic church is in?

Would admitting that wreck the foundation of your faith?

If so, y’all need to rethink what exactly it is y’all believe and who you’re putting your faith and trust in.

The original claim was fathered as Pope—countless children.

I think the picture said "Pope's fathered countless children." Which could mean before, during and after. The most succinct data is here:(footnotes at site for further references)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_sexually_active_popes#Popes_sexually_active_before_receiving_Holy_Orders

Popes sexually active before receiving Holy Orders

Pope Pius II (1458–1464) had at least two illegitimate children, one in Strasbourg and one in Scotland, both born before he entered the clergy. Pius delayed becoming a cleric because of the requirement of chastity.[12] Pope Innocent VIII (1484–1492) had two illegitimate children during his youth, both born before he entered the clergy.[13] His nepotism towards these has been described as "lavish as it was shameless." [14] He married off his elder son Franceschetto Cybo to the daughter of Lorenzo de' Medici, who in return obtained the cardinal's hat for his 13-year-old son Giovanni. Later Pope Leo X. Savonarola chastised him for his worldly ambitions.[15] Pope Clement VII (1523–1534) had one illegitimate son before he took holy orders, identified as Alessandro de' Medici, Duke of Florence.[16]

Popes sexually active after receiving Holy Orders Pope Julius II (1503–1513) had three illegitimate daughters, one of whom was Felice della Rovere (born in 1483, twenty years before his election as pope, but twelve years after his enthronement as Bishop of Lausanne).[17] The schismatic Conciliabulum of Pisa, which sought to depose him in 1511, accused him of being a "sodomite covered with shameful ulcers." [18] Pope Paul III (1534–1549) who, according to some sources, held off ordination in order to continue his promiscuous lifestyle, fathering four illegitimate children (three sons and one daughter) by his mistress Silvia Ruffini after his appointment as Cadinal-Deacon of Santi Cosimo and Damiano. He broke his relations with her ca. 1513. There is no evidence of sexual activity during his papacy. He made his illegitimate son Pier Luigi Farnese the first Duke of Parma.[19][20] Pope Gregory XIII (1572–1585) received the ecclesiastical tonsure in Bologna in June 1539, but subsequently had an affair with Maddalena Fulchini which resulted in the birth of a son, Giacomo Boncompagni, in 1548. Giacomo remained illegitimate but his father later appointed him Gonfalonier of the Church, governor of the Castel Sant'Angelo, as well as governor of Fermo.[21][22] Pope Leo XII (1823–1829), as a young prelate was suspected of having had a liaison with the wife of the soldier of Swiss Guard and as nuncio in Germany allegedly fathered three illegitimate children.[23]

Popes accused of being sexually active during pontificate[edit] Pope Sergius III (904–911) was accused by his opponents of being the illegitimate father of Pope John XI by Marozia.[24] These accusations are found in Liutprand of Cremona's Antapodosis,[25] as well as the Liber Pontificalis.[26][27][28] The accusations are disputed by another early source, the annalist Flodoard (c. 894–966): John XI was brother of Alberic II, the latter being the offspring of Marozia and her husband Alberic I, so John too may have been the son of Marozia and Alberic I. Bertrand Fauvarque emphasizes that the contemporary sources backing up this parenthood are dubious, Liutprand being "prone to exaggeration" while other mentions of this fatherhood appear in satires written by supporters of late Pope Formosus.[29] Pope John X (914–928) had romantic affairs with both Theodora and her daughter Marozia, according to Liutprand of Cremona in his Antapodosis.[30][31](See also Saeculum obscurum) Pope John XII (955–963) was accused by his adversaries of adultery and incest.[32][33] The monk Benedict of Soracte noted in his volume XXXVII that he "liked to have a collection of women". According to Liutprand of Cremona in his Antapodosis,[25] "they testified about his adultery, which they did not see with their own eyes, but nonetheless knew with certainty: he had fornicated with the widow of Rainier, with Stephana his father's concubine, with the widow Anna, and with his own niece, and he made the sacred palace into a whorehouse." According to E. R. Chamberlin, John XII was "a Christian Caligula whose crimes were rendered particularly horrific by the office he held".[34] Some sources report that he was rumoured to have died 8 days after being stricken by paralysis while in the act of adultery,[32] others that he was killed by the jealous husband while in the act of committing adultery.[35][36][37][38] (See also Saeculum obscurum) Pope Benedict IX (1032– became pope in 1044, again in 1045 and finally 1047–1048).[39] He was accused by Bishop Benno of Piacenza of "many vile adulteries."[40][41] Pope Victor III referred in his third book of Dialogues to "his rapes... and other unspeakable acts."[42] His life prompted Saint Peter Damian to write an extended treatise against illicit sex in general, and homosexuality in particular. In his Liber Gomorrhianus, Damian accused Benedict IX of routine sodomy and bestiality and sponsoring orgies.[43] In May 1045, Benedict IX resigned his office to pursue marriage.[44] Pope Paul II (1464–1471) is popularly thought to have died due to indigestion arising from eating melon in excess,[45][46] though a rumour was spread by his detractors that he died while engaging in sodomy.[47] Pope Sixtus IV (1471–1484). According to the published chronicle of the Italian historian Stefano Infessura, "Diary of the City of Rome", Sixtus was a "lover of boys and sodomites" - awarding benefices and bishoprics in return for sexual favours, and nominating a number of young men as cardinals; some of whom were celebrated for their good looks.[48][49][50] However, Infessura had partisan allegiances to the Colonna and so is not considered to be always reliable or impartial.[51] Pope Alexander VI (1492–1503) had a long affair with Vannozza dei Cattanei while still a priest, but before he became pope; and by her had his illegitimate children Cesare Borgia, Giovanni Borgia, Gioffre Borgia, and Lucrezia. A later mistress, Giulia Farnese, was the sister of Alessandro Farnese, and she gave birth to a daughter (Laura) while Alexander was in his 60s and reigning as pope.[52] Alexander fathered at least seven, and possibly as many as ten illegitimate children, and did much to promote his family's interests - using his offspring to build alliances with a number of important dynasties.[53] He appointed Giovanni Borgia as Captain General of the Church, and made Cesare a Cardinal of the Church - also creating independent duchies for each of them out of papal lands. Pope Leo X (1513–1521) was accused, after his death, of homosexuality (Francesco Guicciardini and Paolo Giovio). It has been suggested he may have had ulterior motives in offering preferment to Marcantonio Flaminio.[54] Pope Julius III (1550–1555) was alleged to have had a long affair with Innocenzo Ciocchi del Monte. The Venetian ambassador at that time reported that Innocenzo shared the pope's bed.[55]

No one said anything about burning someone.

Look, I actually started this thread for help in getting something done about a priest that could say the things this man is saying. But I’m beginning to see that no one wants to fight for what’s right. He’s not important enough, the position is not important enough, etc. I’m beginning to see how the priests were able to get away with abusing the children. Seems like the people who might be able to do something about it want to argue semantics instead. Not help clean up the Church.

How many young boys will this man influence with his Brokeback Mountain and his gay novels?

Well said and a very honest assessment. If the Catholic church had more of 'you', I think things would get straightened out quickly.

Given that posts like this are large collections of vituperative mouth-foaming (as evidenced by your repeated use of the word “cult”—no bias there, eh?), I’m not sure that the benefit-to-annoyance ratio of any reply to comments like it would be anything but a waste of time, falling on deaf ears of those who simply like to hear themselves talk.

Now, if commenters would like to dispense with at least the more spittle-flecked and rabid anti-Catholic rants (and instead ask questions in a manner which isn’t reminiscent of those preferred by those in the liberal MSM), maybe I could find some willingness to put some time into an answer. Otherwise... no, thank you; I gave up “spitting in the wind” and “throwing pearls before swine”, for health reasons.

Now this is funny. The attempt to denigrate the post instead of refuting what Dutchboy posted speaks VOLUMES. And, again, funnily, reading and re-reading Dutchboy's post, I find NO spittle-laden remarks or comments at all. Might they be read in?

If there was an answer that could be given that was true and supportable by scripture, I have no doubt that Roman Catholic Cultists here would easily post them by copy/paste. Not a whole lot of health-endangering effort involved there. Not like folks are lifting 50 pound chopsacks of feed... just moving some electrons.

So... any answers? How about CCC 841? I've asked a bunch of Catholics this and only ONE has had the fortitude to answer it... and was immediately jumped on for answering truthfully:

CCC 841 teaches that Roman Catholics and Muslims believe in the same "merciful God." Muslims state very plainly as does the Qu'ran that they worship a god that is not the Christian God. Yet, Rome teaches that Catholics and Muslims worship the same "God."

Do you stand with Rome and affirm that Catholics worship the false god of Mohammedism, or do you deny Rome's teaching and affirm belief in God Almighty?

Or is this lifting too heavy?

I went down to Florida when the State of Florida under Jeb Bush decided to kill Terri. We almost turned around when we heard on the radio that Bush would send the National Guard to protect Terri.

I was surprised that there were hardly any Catholic priests down there, since the Schindlers were Catholic. They had a lot of ministers from other denominations praying for Terri. The Pope had made statements supporting people like Terri and their right to live. He died around the same time.

Someone in the crowd said that the Bishop or Arch Bishop in Florida had told people not to go to support Terri. I don't know if it was true or not, but I know he didn't lend his support to Terri's family.

There were a few priests and Brothers there. I think there was someone from Priests for Life and some of the Franciscan Brothers of Peace were also there to help the family.

I think making others aware of the elements in the Church who think like this priest is important to clean up the Church.

We don’t know if he is he aware of this priests statements or not. But I would love to have someone in the Church who had his ear, to ask him. Maybe a Catholic newspaper?
