"As smart as Cruz is, I would rather see a Governor on the top of the ticket in 2016 and 2020 and Cruz as VP."

I thought Rush Limbaugh did a good job of refuting the senator/governor meme. He correctly observed that Obama, who never governed, has been pretty successful at destroying the country. Rush asked if anyone really thought Obama would be a better president if he had governed a state.

Of course the answer is no. The ideology of the man is the important factor. Look at what Obama has managed to push through---and he isn't even that bright. Cruz, on the other hand, is a brilliant man, and solidly conservative. He would be able to accomplish much more, and in the right direction.

To date, 16 presidents have been senators; 17 have been governors. Those who governed include Woodrow Wilson, Franklin Roosevelt, Jimmy Carter, and Bill Clinton...which tells us that previous governorship means very little.

Ted Cruz: Senator Vs. Governor

Previous full-term governorship should be a disqualifier.
