If you follow liberal websites (as I do to know what my enemy is thinking) it would make more sense.
They are on this kick that “thug” is the new super secret *wink* *wink* racist white guy way of calling blacks “nigger”
And they are trying lamely in this article to point out that the bikers were referred to as bikers and not thugs because they were white, and that their shootout was called a shootout or gun fight and not a riot because again these guys were white and according to them it’s only called a riot when blacks do it.

I know... they are so stupid it hurts.
They have no idea that the words thugs, bikers, gang, shootout and riot have specific meanings apparently.
