So, because Walker wants local school boards to have control, he is GOP-e?

I love so-called conservatives who rail against top down, centralized control until it comes to doing what they want.

You, sir, are a hypocrite!

Common Core is really stupid and they accept assignments from anyone. I read some of the 5th grade stories-with-comprehension-questions my son gets, and they are very bad stories. Just plain rotten. Bad “plots,” and morally ambiguous. It’s a shame.

Dear Nextrush,

Common Core IS NOT FEDERALLY MANDATED.

There is NOTHING TO REPEAL.

Walker has given the schools the freedom to kick it to the curb.

Kapeesh?

Perhaps your view is a good view.

It would be if we taxed at local school board level and left the local school boards to decide on pensions for their school districts and pay them themselves. That would get them to think about the stuff they spend on.

Right now the pension system is centralized at state level.

But Pennsylvania’s system is a mess because 503 districts do things they think are good but sock it to the taxpayers in the end.

Wolf (Dem) and Saylor (Rep) want to keep things going the way there are, business as usual in education.

Hardly late, and most definitely hard fought - as usual.

I am really liking Walker :)

I totally agree. Walker has not banned CC. He threw it back at the local districts but they will be ostracized if they don’t keep it. He needs to have it pulled from the state with NO federal replacements.
