Federal transportation officials announced Tuesday that Japanese company Takata Corp. has agreed to recall roughly 34 million vehicles because of defective air bags, in the largest auto recall in U.S. history.
Takata agreed to the recall of the 33.8 million vehicles amid mounting pressure and fines from federal regulators over roughly the past year.

Sorry but I am skeptical. 0bama went after Honda and Toyota in the past with a vengeance as well...any of our allies, he clobbers. Yes, I am a skeptic.
Wow, I wonder if this company will be ruined.
Toyota and Honda are using them much less than before for their Japanese (and some N American) models so there is probably something there although the car companies should have done their own testing to ensure they were up to safety standards instead of buying them in bulk because Takata is a major supplier.
