I think Maryland only stayed in the Union in 1860 because of coercion and threats (am I right? Feel free to correct me), which Lincoln’s judicial, military and law enforcement thugs called down on several states, some members of Congress, a lot of newspaper owners and entire towns. Most of them ended up dead, ruined, or in prison in the north. But Missouri was half slave/half free and not officially either one yet. All they had to worry about was being murdered by John Brown’s gang. So exactly WHAT do Baltimore, MD. or Fergusen, MO. have to base that on?
