***You forgot the Israeli attack on a U. S. vessel***

I haven’t forgot. I also read, here on FR, that the problem was resolved well over 15 years ago.

Then there is the USS PUEBLO, still in NK hands.

Saddam’s dead,it is past, we can’t go back. We have to deal with the fallout NOW, as long as it doesn’t get in the way of a few rounds of golf.

Run for POTUS, if you think you are so brilliant.

Hey, come on - Iraq’s doing so much better now that Saddam’s gone.

The myriad of mistakes made by the feckless government(s) of the USA is amazing.

Instead of cleaning up and preventing the defeat of the Korean War we move on to yet another fiasco: Vietnam.

The Israelis, showing determination, decide to kick the shit out of the Muslim Egyptians and we shudder and try desperately to contain their forward push.

The bottom line, however, is that our government(s) are either incredibly stupid, or complicit it the destruction of America.

Now, in respect to Saddam. Our large proboscises are stuck out a mile and after our stupid State Department waving a flag to him encouraging him to jump into Kuwait, we backpedaled and decided to wage war.

I could write a novel about our stupidity, but at my age I just haven’t the time.

Fact is you are more aligned in your thinking with Obama and Michael Moore and hard leftists.

And, in view of your maligning me, are demonstrably a twit!

Tell us how does your post three differ from what Michael Moore, Cindy Sheehan, Barack Obama, Sheryl Crowe and an unlimited cacophony of liberals were saying a decade ago?

I’m sick of your degrading comments to me. Please don’t respond to anything I post and I will surely avoid any comments to you heretofore.

History is fun to visit and learn from our mistakes.

I had to dig through the thread to find your question which was somewhat convoluted since you lumped my comment about the folly of taking over Iraq, (now being turned over to the Iranian devils) executing Saddam and trying to establish democracy...whatever the hell that is since we’re supposedly a Republic.

I find comments by the obese Moore, et al, to be hit pieces against the Republican Party, which is the second head on our one party system.

I’m a Conservative, they’re not and neither are you. I doubt if you even read any reports or books that duly explain just what the hell happened in Iraq. You’ll recall that with one exception the ‘aviators’ who flew the planes into the big buildings were from Saudi Arabia. Why didn’t we blow the hell out of Saudi Arabia? Was it because our political dummies were too busy kissing their royal asses?

We have two allies, maybe three. When the current dummy keeps chattering about 60 in a phony coalition he’s a damned traitorous liar.

Now to end this, I’ve had enough of back and forth with you. You’re a one record guy, stuck on one groove that in your ill-adjusted mind makes me an enemy to the Republican Party. As a disgruntled Conservative I vote only for Republicans, but I have to hold my nose when I’m doing it because I know I’m in many cases voting for the difference between poison and poison lite.

New documents reveal:

Bin Laden warns that conflict with regimes in the Middle East would distract the extremists from hitting hard at what as far as he is concerned is the real enemy — America.

“You’ll recall that with one exception the ‘aviators’ who flew the planes into the big buildings were from Saudi Arabia.”

Again, these are and have been left wing talking points for over a decade.

“Why didn’t we blow the hell out of Saudi Arabia?”

That would have been fine with me.

Thanks for your reply.

I would add one parameter, the lack of will power/tenacity to set long term goals and the determination to succeed.

It was going to be a whole lot easier to fight the coming war in a sandbox than in the unforgiving mountains of Afghanistan... So pick the nearest ***hole with a sandbox...

Good strategy and good point!
