Northern Ireland -- A judge has ruled that a Christian-run bakery discriminated against a gay customer by refusing to make a cake with a pro-gay marriage slogan.

Ashers Baking Company, based in County Antrim, was taken to court by gay rights activist Gareth Lee.

A Belfast judge said, as a business, Ashers was not exempt from discrimination law.

The firm's general manager said they were "extremely disappointed" by the ruling and are considering an appeal.

The judge said Ashers is "conducting a business for profit", and it is not a religious group.

The firm was found to have discriminated against Mr Lee on the grounds of sexual orientation as well as his political beliefs.

The judge said she accepted that Ashers has "genuine and deeply held" religious views, but said the business was not above the law.

Why is the business “subject” to “the law”? I thought right to refuse service was something that has been practiced for hundreds if not housands of years in the marketplace.

Time to go have some 10 Commandment cakes made at some gay bakeries. Maybe some traditional weddings too.

They have Muslims in Ireland, why didn’t this little sissy get a cake made by them? I thought the left sees them as being “on the same team”?

“First the churches, then the bakeries and the kids are ours! HaHaHa. No one can stop us!”. If they already didn’t control the schools and the media, this would be funny.

They need a dose of their own medicine. Time to compile lists of gay bakeries and distribute them. I think the Sodom amd Gomorrah mushroom cakes will go ver well too. Then there’s Leviticus series cakes with verses 18:22 and 20:13. Can’t wait to see the lawsuits...: )

“Sodom and Gomorrah Mushroom Cakes “

A MARVELOUS Idea!!

I suspect there may be lists of “gay” friendly” businesses all over the net.....

Some might well do business on the net as a matter of fact!!

Asking a “Gay” “friendly” Printing company.....to print Bible Tracts..might provide “interesting as well.

http://www.engaygedweddings.com/ca/ca-san-francisco-bay-area-gay-weddings.html

hmm this might be a place to start!

“Find Local LGBT-Owned and LGBT-Friendly Wedding Services and Businesses:”

Why would “gay” “couples” aproach non “”gay” businesses for their baking catering or wedding photography with such lists so readily available?

Id say theyre knowingly HARASSING people!!

If Christians hadn’t resisted on the gay “wedding” cakes,
then, yes, the left would have found SOME issue that Christians
would resist on, and legally compel that.

Remember, this is NOT about “gay rights” or “gay marriage”,
it’s about criminalizing Christianity.

Of COURSE they are targeting these Christian owned businesses - that’s the entire point.

In a “discussion” I had with a liberal, I got her, in a moment of “not keeping my guard up”,
to say “those businesses SHOULD be targeted”.

I still like the idea of saying
“I can’t make that cake because it would be offensive to Muslims.”

It’s sad that these Christians are putting their heads, and businesses on the chopping block by refusing to do something that IS NOT A SIN—namely, baking a cake.

It is a disgrace that those who DO have an obligation to defend real marriage are caving in—legislators, priests, BISHOPS. In the U.K., all but one bishop are giving Communion to pro-abortion, pro-sodomy legislators, just as our bishops do.
