Isn’t trepanning the surgical procedure of BORING A HOLE IN SOMEONE’S HEAD? There’s some weird kind of synchronicity going on around here.
In ancient times, holes were drilled into a person who was behaving in what was considered an abnormal way to let out what they believed were evil spirits. Evidence of trepanation has been found in prehistoric human remains from Neolithic times onward.
Hey, Ben Carson used to do it all the time...saving the lives of small children (with brain cancer?)...until he retired :-P
I mean, isn’t that the root of modern brain surgery? You need to open up the skull one way or another...
