Dear Gop Establishment: You Went With The Wrong Retread
crooksandliars.com ^ | 5/17/15 | Steve M.

There was a moment when it looked as if both Jeb Bush and Mitt Romney would be running for president. Then, apparently, meetings were convened in the modern-day equivalent of smoke-filled rooms, and Romney decided to bow out, allowing Bush to be the graybeard choice of the party Establishment.

More and more, it seems as if the party made a mistake. Mitt and Jeb are both sad emblems of an embarrassing past, but Jeb appears to be a worse campaigner than Mitt, and Jeb refuses to budge from positions that are anathema to the party base. What's more, the party's voters want a candidate who's an grudge-driven attack dog, which is why the first candidate to shoot to the top of the charts this year was Scott Walker.

The Establishment will now go full throttle for Rubio, as we have known all along that he was to be their backup plan (after he was successfully co-opted on Amnesty) Even the Daily Kos sees this.

If Rubio also stumbles or fails to get traction, the Establishment will settle on Scott Walker...and then we win!

“and Jeb refuses to budge from positions that are anathema to the party base. )”

Even if he did budge, I wouldnt buy his sudden conversion.

Don’t get me wrong, Walker is a good choice but a grudge-driven attack dog? It just ain’t there.

Honestly, I do not want someone foaming at the mouth because that just enforces the narrative already set by the left.

I want someone who can frame any argument off the cuff to his advantage in any setting so the whole “gotcha” media mindset can be decimated with a reasoned and almost adolescent chiding they deserve. All with a smile, and it ain’t Rubio.

Lindsey Graham is the next grey beard candidate, followed by John Kasich.

The correct answer to the question, “Knowing what we now know, would you have invaded Iraq?” is: “Knowing what we now know, I would not have pulled our troops out.”

Well, you have to look at the picture from the left’s perspective. Walker fought them tooth and nail and prevailed. He didn’t shrink away and curl up into a little ball when they said boo, like most republicans do. So to them, he IS an attack dog.

Walker fought against the government employee unions and that makes the corporate elites happy.

I supported Walker with $$$$$ when the unions tried to take him out.

I’ve read that “Walker is acceptable to the Establishment” and I think that disqualifies him.

95 percent of Republicans are not conservative, they just pretend it and or repudiate it in cases like Peter King of New York.

Without a real conservative in the White House, things will not get better. The Corporatist Uniparty agenda of less freedom and more power for political and business elites will move forward.

Other than his mom, I don't think there's anybody giving even then slightest bit of credibility to the Graham candidacy.

He’s not a revivalist kind of stump speaker, he sounds reasonable. Then, in the case of the unions, he cut them up and left them bleeding in the street...when conventional wisdom said to find an accommodation. He’ll do.

Agree with this article. Mitt is the far more competent and superior candidate. Glad they picked Jebbie because he can be knocked out. Not sure a conservative could have beaten Mitt.

I still see Walker Cruz Rubio in the finals. And for the ticket my bet will be on Rubio as VP. So that leaves Walker or Cruz. Either one is fine for me but prefer Cruz.

Second teir have no chance....Perry, Santorum, Kasich, Carson or the others.
The huckster and Paul are just spoilers.

So, you want someone who measures up to any label of the left? Not me. I want someone who can obliterate any label they throw at him/her. Remember, it is the narrative the media seeks. If you are OK with them setting the narrative, good luck.

I respect Walker highly but I also cannot swallow his on and off positions based on his impending candidate status, especially on immigration.

Dear GOP establishment: Join the Democrats, please...Ted Cruz/Scott Walker is our choice - not JEB. Please either get behind our ticket, our join the Clinton Sanders ticket. Thank you.

WRONG !
Both Rubio and Walker have SOLD OUT to the "ESTABLISHMENT REPUBLICANS" on AMNESTY !

They pissed off their BASE, and THEY WILL SUFFER FOR IT !
You MIND-NUMBED ROBOTS who SUFFER from "ABUSED WIFE SYNDROME" can go ahead and take the ABUSE from the "ESTABLISHMENT REPUBLICANS".
But INTELLIGENT PEOPLE will NO LONGER put up with the "ESTABLISHMENT REPUBLICANS" and their CRAP !

I'll take out (vote AGAINST) an "ESTABLISHMENT REPUBLICAN" every time I get an opportunity to, and that INCLUDES the GENERAL ELECTION.

You got it?

"ESTABLISHMENT REPUBLICANS"SHALL NOT PASS !

It's SIMPLE.
