Actually it was a conversation between the two engineers that she must have misunderstood. I believe the SEPTA guy will be interviewed Monday so it should all be that much clearer after his testimony.
An assistant conductor on Amtrak 188 told investigators that three to four minutes out of Philadelphia, she heard a radio conversation between her engineer and the engineer of a nearby SEPTA train, “who reported to a train dispatcher that he had either been hit by a rock or shot at,” NTSB board member Robert Sumwalt said Friday.
Sumwalt said the Amtrak assistant conductor, 39, then heard her engineer “say something about his train being struck by something” as well.
It appears the engine struck or sideswiped and steel support for a steel overhead structure, not rolled on it’s side then up-righted when derailed. The steel I-beams seem to be all over the crash area.
the many photographs of the windshield of the train clearly show damage..
i think whats at play here, in his not having communicated the impact and damage, is in fact how might that play into his having caused the wreck, not whether there was an impact to the windshield
But that story is not consistent with what the N.T.S.B. revealed by reviewing the tapes from the communications there was no such conversation of anything hitting the train by the engineer, or the dispatcher.
So one is lying or was told to say that.
Just saw a picture of that engine the next day in day light, it looks like the right side of the whole engine is scrapped up, that damage happened after the train left the tracks derailing, look at the pictures of the cars behind the engine, there is a badly mangled catinary line pole in which the engine hit.
Most likely the engine hit the pole and the heavy copper lines/cables hit the windshield like a whip.
We are being lied to so they can cover up something.
The damage to the windshield, the right window pillor, the whole right side of the engine IS consistent of hitting the catenary line pole.
People look at the pictures of the catenary line pole, it is deformed and mangled up.
That is what hit the right front pillor of the engine and scraped the whole side of the engine and the copper cable lines hit the windshield.
They are lying to us.
That is a given.
nd it will be why he jerked the steering wheel which threw the train off the tracks as he instinctively accelerated and added 50mph in 2.7 seconds....
