Well, per Pew a few years back the biggest source of “nones” (the fastest growing “creed” in the U.S.) are ex-Rome-ulans such as myself. Check any non-partisan statistical survey and you will see that declared Catholics would be shrinking as a share of the population were it not for immigration, and that is counting anyone who considers themselves “nominally” Catholic. Don’t get me started on the rapid decline of the parochial school system, and the decline of belief in Catholic Europe and Latin America. Good luck with the Chinese and Africans...

True. But this is to be expected. Catholics were thrown to the lions and the religion spread. As St. Benedict says, “when its pruned, its grows.” It’s better this way than to abandon doctrine in order to be “more inclusive.” Some of the more traditional seminaries are flourishing as have other traditional orders of sisters and monks.
