Trade agreement could limit access to medicines

A leaked draft of a trade agreement under negotiation among 12 Pacific rim countries, including the US and Japan, contains language that could delay the entrance of generic competition for much-needed medicines and keep pharmaceutical prices high, according to the Foundation for Aids Research (amfAR), an international non-profit headquartered in New York. The organisation is lending its voice to those expressing similar concerns, like humanitarian organisation Doctors Without Borders.

Although details of the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) have been kept confidential, leaked texts of the treaty have offered some clues, such as its embrace of intellectual property protections that go further than previous free trade agreements and expand existing intellectual property (IP) protections on pharmaceutical products, amfAR says in a new report released on 8 May.

Well, it will NOT limit it for the EXEMPT,
the patricians in “US” Congress, SCOTUS, and the
White Mosque. They are above all others, as they say.

I’ve been reading what I can find about this. I’ve noticed a theme on the leftist sites this started in that in 2008 under the administration of George Bush. The Obama Administration decided to continue with the negotiations. So it’s Bush’s fault.

Have news for you we are already importing a ton on drugs from other countries. Many are held up by customs as they do NOT meet US FDA Standards. 0 drove our our drug manufacturers over seas with high taxes.

Just like we are our food. Catfish produced in Honduras any one?

FDA refuses to approve Gastroparesis Slow Motility drug, Domperidone. This drug is a 12 day RESTRICTED drug in Europe. Yet Gastro’s will help you set up an account in the Philippines to get it and they don’t give a crap how long you are on it. It was restricted for HEART DISEASE. FDA Approved REGLAN which is for the same condition. 12 DAY RESTRICTION. Gastro’s give the drug for YEARS. VERY HIGH SIDE EFFECTS.

Those Osteoporosis drugs ALL carry a very high FDA Warning, with Foreto carrying the HIGHEST warning a Black Box for Bone Cancer. Yet it is wide prescribed and NO ONE TELLS THE PATIENT ANY OF THIS INFO. ALL of them must be taken on a FASTING STOMACH. FOR a patient with GI ISSUES this is a disaster waiting to happen.
