Businesses pass taxes on to the consumers, government raises their costs by passing them on to the consumers, government employees get higher colas to make up for their share of taxes, passed on to the consumers, just let the people keep their money and tax what they consume.

FAIR TAX NOW!

Fairtax (H.R. 14) calls for repealing the 16th Amendment. See http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/D?d114:1:./temp/~bdXP8R:@@@L&summ2=m&|/home/LegislativeData.php|

H.J. Res. 16 is the legislation required to repeal the 16th Amendment. See http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/D?d114:1:./temp/~bdwZ5M:@@@L&summ2=m&|/home/LegislativeData.php|

FairTax is a far better solution, as you well know, but refuse to admit!

Senator Cruz signed on as a sponsor of S. 114 on March 10, 2015.

The legislation can be seen at http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d114:SN00155:@@@P|/home/LegislativeData.php|

NO!!!!

As long as there is an income tax, the “progressive” income tax will come back.

We MUST repeal the 16th Amendment.

I agree. However, you need to put a structure in place to collect the tax revenue from FairTax--and implementing the flat tax I suggested and then over 3-4 year put the new tax collection structure in place before phasing out the income tax in favor of FairTax is still the best solution.

Exactly what we need. No exceptions, no fooling around.

A question: what about charitable donations and municipal bonds that are now tax exempt?

There already is a structure in place to collect retail sales taxes. No need to wait for that...we got that now.

"We have to pass it to find out what is in it."

That is what he should tell the far left wing media. After all they did not have problems with that when Barry, Harry, and Nancy used that tactic.

He has said he favors the fair tax but realizes it will take an incremental step such as flat tax system first to get to the fair tax. At least he and Huckabee are talking about it !! I have little confidence that anyone will be able to convince Congress to give up their ability to order society by tweaking a tax code - they would lose too much of their power over the peasants !! A true leader would be needed to convince the people to demand this change and CRUZ can be that leader !!!

You may well be right re: Congress and the power of manipulating the IRC to enrich themselves and their FRiends, but:

WE MUST MAKE EVERY EFFORT HUMANLY POSSIBLE TO SNATCH THAT POWER AWAY FROM THEM!

After all, as one of my former bosses used to say, FRequently: “Can’t Never Could!”

We cannot quit pushing the FairTax!

Find out how you can help at https://www.fairtax.org.

10% pure, 100% flat tax for everyone.

No deductions, credits, or loopholes.

Everyone from a homeless bum to Bill Gates pays the same rate.

Worth repeating!!!

I was referring to the headline, stating the timetable for Cruz's plan as "soon".

The reason I ax "how soon" is because I support tax reform - I cautiously support the Fair Tax, and the Flat Tax as plan B, myself.

From what we've been hearing here I expect his plan to be one that I'll like... I look forward to seeing it.

Time will tell, but I think tax reform is underrated as a campaign strategy...

Thanks for the clarification.

I sincerely hope that Senator Cruz gets good advice FRom the FairTax folks in Houston. He is a smart guy, but he will need to be up to full speed on the TairTax details before he leaps into the tax reform fray!

Thanks for supporting the FairTax. It is a FReedom issue, and more and more Americans are coming to understand that!
