>> It’s just kinda odd to hear a “conservative” such as yourself say they will be voting for someone as liberal as Tammy Duckworth. <<

Just curious, PatriotWave, did you lecture all the conservatives in South Carolina who openly said they were voting for the RAT over Lindsay Graham (as opposed to saying they were staying home or voting third party, which you label as voting for the RAT anyway)?

I don't recall any of the Kirk apologists here on the Graham threads screaming about how we MUST re-elect Graham over a Dem because we need him to get a GOP majority, or lecturing SC freepers with comments like "he would be a much more reliable conservative vote than the democRAT alternative considering that person would vote conservative 0% of the time".

And it should be noted that Graham on his worst day is STILL more conservative than Kirk on his best day. People talk about what a dirty fithy uber-RINO scumbag Graham is, but I don't recall Graham ever worshiping Planned Parenthood or gloating about an "F" rating from the NRA like "moderate" Mark Kirk does.

Ah, but its "different" because Kirk's "the best we can get" in a RAT controlled state, right? News to conservative U.S. Senators like Al D'Amato (elected in New York State), Pat Toomney (elected in Pennsylvania), and of course, the man who immediately preceeeded Obama in the Senate, Peter Fitzgerald (elected in Illinois, running as a Reagan Republican). If only those foolish GOP "purists" had nominated RINOs in those states instead of "unelectable" types like Fitzgerald, right?

I firmly believe Kirk is not the best we can get. He is however certain to be the nominee unless his health takes a turn. Joe Walsh, if he runs, isn’t gonna beat Kirk and would be dead meat in the general, not because he’s a conservative, but because he’s a weak candidate that was lucky to get elected to Congress in a GOP landslide year. No one else, like Ron Wallace, is even worth talking about. Kirk’s main primary opponent last time was a joke, Hughes. No one who could have won dared to cross the combine (or the NRCC who I’m sure didn’t want a primary fight).

A conservative who can win in IL needs to be a strong candidate, Roskam could do it, he ain’t gonna run though unless Kirk is forced to withdraw.

I’m gonna vote for Kirk and that’s my recommendation.

But I won’t lecture anyone to vote for Kirk because it would undermine my efforts to get people to vote for Republicans that are actually good conservatives despite getting smeared by morons, like Pat Roberts, that are perfectly fine despite getting compared to Satan, like Mitch McConnell, or are perfectly acceptable given the circumstances, like Scott Brown. People like Kirk and Collins and Lisa Murkowski don’t belong in our party. But I’m not gonna let some 100% liberal ugly feminist *itch win and put the rats closer to control. My other representation is Dickie Turban and #1 illegals lover Luis Gutierrez, Kirk a least votes the way I like some of the time.

Those that skip the race or vote third party, I respect your conscience not allowing you to vote Kirk.

However I have a problem with anyone who openly roots for or God forbid says they SUPPORT and will vote for the democrat. I would ban anyone from this site for saying they’re voting for Alison Grimes for example.

As for Kirk’s chances, dare I proclaim myself a much better judge of them than people that say “That RINO IS toast (because I don’t like him and freepers like me are obviously an accurate representation of the average Illinois voter)” but I’d put them at 50/50. He shouldn’t need that much crossover to win and since, despite claims to the contrary, Republican’s are favored to keep the Senate, certain elements in this state might prefer to keep a foot in the majority (this will be the #1 target of the DSCC though, national democrats don’t give a F what the combine wants, they want the majority back and need this seat to do it).
