May 15, 8:45 a.m. ET: The league confirmed to NFL Medias Albert Breer that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell indeed will hear Tom Bradys appeal of his four-game suspension.
Tom Bradys fate reportedly rests in the hands of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
Goodell will hear Bradys four-game Deflategate suspension appeal, as first reported by Bleacher Reports Mike Freeman.
NFL executive vice president of football operations Troy Vincent, not Goodell, handed down the suspension on Brady. Goodell authorized the discipline imposed by Vincent.
The commissioner said in a statement earlier this week: We reached these decisions after extensive discussion with Troy Vincent and many others. We relied on the critical importance of protecting the integrity of the game and the thoroughness and independence of the Wells Report.
If Brady and the NFL Players Association dont accept Goodells appeal ruling, they can take the case to federal court.
Brady was suspended based on Ted Wells findings in his Deflategate investigation.
The Patriots sent out a rebuttal to the report Thursday night.

If Brady didn’t let the air out of the ball then why is he being suspended.
What was he supposed to do? Call a timeout and say “Hey this ball doesn’t feel right?”
The NFL should pay a fine for this debacle. It’s really their fault, more than anybody, for not providing standard footballs for both teams to use in a championship game.
If this was Jacksonville do you think we would still be hearing about this?
Brady’s lawyers are trying to get Goodell off the case this morning according to the NY Post..http://nypost.com/2015/05/15/tom-bradys-appeal-tries-to-strip-roger-goodell-of-power/ http://www.scribd.com/doc/265448843/Brady-Appeal-Letter
Double the suspension....
” Its really their fault, more than anybody, for not providing standard footballs for both teams to use in a championship game.”
They used to but the QB’s and receivers complained about the ‘new’ balls and the QBs wanted to be able to condition the surfaces before using.
Like a pitcher in baseball will ‘condition’ a new ball before using it. Only during a NFL game the QB has no time to condition it during the game.
“If this was Jacksonville do you think we would still be hearing about this?”
It only makes the news if you win ...
Then they should tell the QB’s and receivers, “That’s tough....Here is what you play with...If you don’t like it, go to work at McDonalds....”
hope roger takes his knee pads.
Brady will get off with a 2 game suspension. Fine to Pats will be whittled down to pocket change. NFL ratings for the coming season will skyrocket.
That should last about ten minutes of Brady making a bigger Jerk of himself till Goodell tells him: Enough, get out.
I think Roger is hoping Giselle accompanies Tom or this could be Roger’s payback for him dissing Barky at the White Hut.
The guy who issued the suspension will hear the appeal. Yeah, that’s fair.
You’re pretty glib, but then so are most uninformed Brady suckups.
Brady has been coordinating this for many games, probably his entire career. What he’s supposed to do is not conspire with the equipment people to tamper with the balls.
If I’m Goodell and he doesn’t come clean during the appeal, including providing all of his text messages, then I add two games to the suspension and another million to the fine.
Sports appeals are supposed to be about admitting you did it, but providing justification to lower the penalty. Stonewalling indicates a lack of remorse and no likely desire to avoid future violations.
“We relied on the critical importance of protecting the integrity of the game...”
If the NFL was remotely interested in protecting the integrity of the game in regards to properly inflated footballs, wouldn’t ball protocol be performed differently? I mean come on, its multi multi billion dollar industry. If it’s really that big a deal, the league is in always in possession and they check the play ball during breaks. But that might cut down on any edge given to offense, and the NFL needs its casual fans who think excitement = scoring.
Freegards
Up until now, I suspected odds were that Brady was involved. Now, with the way that Goodell is acting, it is clear that the management of the NFL is unethical. How can NFL management which issued the suspension then hear the appeal of the suspension? Roger Goodell should be fired for his behavior in this matter.
How did it happen without Brady AND Belicheat knowing?
If you’re innocent, release the emails and texts, Hillary Brady.
