I’d like to take this opportunity to put to rest a myth I keep hearing liberals and anti death penalty types spout over and over. The “Life Imprisonment is worse than death” bolshoi.
Lets say I offer you a choice between two punishments: eating Brussels sprouts or eating excrement. One sure way to determine which is worse in your opinion is to watch and see which one you argue against the hardest. I would suspect that everyone would argue against the excrement option with great ferocity.
In this case, there are no “anti life imprisonment activists” The inmates, attorneys and do gooder activists like Helen Prejean argue that the death penalty is “inhumane”. Then, by contrast, life imprisonment which they argue for must be humane, and therefore, WORSE.
