If they wanted to help the Haiti earthquake , they could have donated to the clearly non-partisan Red Cross, UNRefugees.org, or Rescue.org, or any number of non-politically affiliated agencies.

Yet, they all donated to the Clinton Foundation.

With all the charities that seem to have duplicate missions, there’s no reason to donate to a politician’s foundation...unless you’re expecting something in return.

"They weren’t donating to the Clinton Foundation. They were donating to the Clintons.",

I wish we had a FR-CPA-Accounting Ping List full of CPA's Enrolled Agents, and Attorneys.

I'd love to know...

* What Tax Status this Foundation falls under.
* Did they break the rules of said Status.
* A full accounting of all monies in and out.
* Is it truly about 10% actually went to good deeds to help people.

IMHO This was not playing Billy Soprano not to break up your store, this was pay Billy to play in his store (aka access, quid pro qou)....

I think you have a point. Political contributions are NOT tax deductible. But charitable contributions are.

She wants us to believe that she was thinking about Haiti when she donated to Clintons?

How does she feel now knowing almost none of it went to Charity?

Factoid - Clinton has double the net worth of that Big Oil moneyman George HW Bush.

And just remember - in 2000 they were broke!

Also, there is the gift tax on the recipient. If the money were just given to the Clintons directly, the donor would not be able to take a deduction and the recipient would have to report it as income. By donating to the Clinton Foundation “charity”, you avoid both.

I was going to post something similar.

$250 is almost pocket change. Many people spend or contribute that amount with little or no thought. And, they don’t expect anything significant in return.

On the other hand, $75,000 is a huge sum for anyone short of a billionaire. You don’t contribute that without expecting something in return, especially to the Clnton’s. And as a former/current Clintonite, Geoge knows that.

ABC hired George in the first place to curry favor with the Clinton’s. In a just world, ABC would ban him completely from political news, or preface his every appearance with a disclaimer, and display a disclaimer at the bottom of the screen every time he even mentions the Clinton’s.

But, ABC won’t do that because they know the average LIV doesn’t know or doesn’t care about George’s past relationship with the Clinton’s.

“Seeing the massive loss of human life and the terrible conditions for survivors, I wanted to make a contribution and saw this as a way to do that.”

Yes, but for a highly paid member of the MSM, $250 is not really not much to contribute after seeing the "massive loss of human life."

The least she could have done is donate some of her husband's old underwear.

And the Haitians have led demonstrations against the Clinton Foundation, saying funds meant for them were diverted.

I suspect that the Clinton foundation is too big to fail, so nothing will be done. I feel sorry for Leona Helmsley, Bernard Madoff and Martha Stewart. The Clintons make them look like small-fry pickers.
