Fleeing, or evacuating?
Fleeing implies that the “United States Forces” are losing a battle and are retreating because they are losing a fight.
Aren’t they just some advisers?

Fleeing implies that the United States Forces are losing a battle and are retreating because they are losing a fight. Fleeing also implies panic or disorder, which I'm sure doesn't exist here.

I assume they are just advisers as everyone knows we have no ‘boots on the ground’ in Iraq anymore.

“Fleeing, or evacuating?”
How about “advancing in a different direction”?
