Islam is the religion of fighting.
He is saying that Islam, the belief in Allah itself, is a belief of fighting.

No one should believe that the war that we are waging is the war of the Islamic State.
Thus, he is correcting those who say that we do not fight against Islam, but we only fight against a group of extremists known as the Islamic State.

He is stating his belief that Islam and the rest of the world is at war. Not very politically correct of him. He might trigger some undergraduate Wymyn Studies majors at Columbia with his micro-aggressions.
