After 50 years, it's time to scrap both failed policies

President Barack Obama had the right words, only the wrong occasion.

The president said, "I don't anticipate overnight changes. But what I know deep in my bones is that if you've done the same thing for 50 years and nothing has changed, you should try something different if you want a different outcome, and this gives us an opportunity for a different outcome."

That is what Obama should have said when he talked about the rioting, pillaging and looting that took place in Baltimore, while police were held back, after the death in police custody of Freddie Gray.

But, no, Obama did not say that about Baltimore. He said that about Cuba when he announced his decision to normalize U.S. relations with the communist police stat

I didn’t think there was anything wrong with the Cuba policy.

What was the "failed" policy with Cuba? Everything seems to be working as designed.

The only failure was President Kennedys failure to get rid of Castro and his regime.

At first glance I read ...

“After 50 years, it’s time to scrap both failed political parties”

That’s the ticket. So true.

I don’t have too many issues with it either.

But consider for minute...

In the late 1980’s we were engaged with the USSR and the other Warsaw Pact countries. As they saw how badly they were lagging behind the western nations and technology made access to western media more available, the communist governments fell in months.

The preconditions for that had been going for years and were made possible by the fact that there was limited contact and economic ties between the West and Eastern Europe. We may have missed a chance with Cuba 25-30 years for the same thing to happen. Its just something I wonder about from time to time.

I think the big difference was that the USSR was posing as being equal or superior to the US as a world power, a myth that Reagan was able to shatter by forcing them to try (and fail) to keep up with US advances.

Cuba doesn’t have that pretense, so the same tactics might not work as well.

The Democrat Party is not a “failed party.” It is a Communist party and it is succeeding in the communist project rapidly, its only foreseeable obstacle is the parallel aggressive Islamic with which it is infected. Communists think they can use Islam to advance the total communization of the world. Moslems know that Communism is a wonderful vehicle for totally Islamizing the world. Each thinks it can use the other. The end of both is total control and rule. They will happily unite for that end then go after each others’ throats when it is accomplished.

Hmm, but the entire West is not embargoing Cuba, just us. So they already have had plenty of exposure to Westerners, and it hasn’t seemed to accomplish anything.

Actually the evidence is in, and many people on welfare are both stupid and lazy. They like being leeches and consider themselves victims. Time to stop the gravy train.

What to do with these people. There's a huge need to clean up the inner cities. I'm sure even the most unskilled person can be "persuaded" to pick up trash.
