Does it really make sense to hold the World Championships during the middle of the Stanley Cup playoffs, when a good number of the best players aren’t available?
When would you suggest holding the World Championships in hockey -- around the Fourth of July? Does it really make sense to schedule such a long NHL season that the Stanley Cup playoffs end in June?
It's a annual event. Players who have played 2 or 3 rounds in the playoffs wouldn't go anyway.
