For one thing, we still don’t know what caused the derailment.
First responders had not finished combing the wreckage of Tuesday night’s Amtrak derailment for bodies when the liberal outlet Vox posted:
Alarming headline, exploitative disaster photo. The only thing missing is a picture of a grinning Ted Cruz.
The response to last night’s deadly Amtrak wreck in Philadelphia prompts two observations.
First — and this seems important — we don’t yet know what caused the derailment. An investigation is under way. Sources tell the Wall Street Journal that the train was traveling more than 100 mph — more than twice the speed limit — as it entered the curve where it derailed. But the bottom line is, we don’t know what happened.
Yet ThinkProgress is currently flogging a piece entitled “Why You Can’t Talk about the Amtrak Derailment Without Talking about Our Infrastructure Crisis.” Of course you can. And you should. Until an investigation uncovers evidence that unsound infrastructure was a contributing factor in the crash, it would be irresponsible to speculate. Unless (to Jonah’s point) you’re less interested in the tragedy itself than in exploiting it for political gain.
Second, there is no self-evident connection between Amtrak funding and last night’s wreck.

I thought AMTRACK was supposed to be self sufficient.
So is the Post Office.
What you’re not told is that it receives hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars in a laundered fashion, via government paid postage.
Speed is directly under control of the engineer who, by the way, has to be familiar with and qualified to operate on his territory.
So the question is: What was the guy doing that caused him to not know where he was?
Yeah, Porkulus and shovel ready jobs. Democrat criminals took those trillions and shoveled them into their pockets and the pockets of their criminal associates.
The crisis is a result of not outlawing the democrat party in 1865 and hanging the democrat leadership north and south back then.

What happened to that $890 Billion that the Democrat Congress gave Obama for his Porkulus Bill in March, 2009, to build our infrastructure??? All the stupid taxpayers saw out of that was the Obama project signs….but no projects completed. Instead, his cronies in the Green movement made out like bandits at Solyndra and wind energy scams.
And why are the braindead Republicans not mentioning this???
