“Not absolutely certain who the 9 aisle=crossers are. And about 8 more absent. “
________________

Based on my recollection of past votes, here are my guesses on the aisle-crossers:

Pro-abortion “Republicans” that voted against the 20-week abortion ban:

Richard Hanna (NY-22)

Bob Dold (IL-10)

Charlie Dent (PA-15)

Rodney Frelinghuysen (NJ-11)

Pro-Life Democrats that voted for the ban:

Dan Lipinski (IL-03)

Collin Peterson (MN-07)

Henry Cuellar (TX-28) (he sometimes votes pro-abortion, but wouldn’t oppose a bill like this)

One of the Democrats that occasionally vote pro-life (likeliest candidates are Stephen Lynch of MA-08, Sanford Bishop of GA-02, Jim Langevin of RT-02 and Marcy Kaptur of OH-09)

Pro-life Republican that voted Present because the bill wasn’t pro-life enough:

Rob Woodall (GA-07) (who joined Paul Broun in voting against a similar bill a couple of years ago because it didn’t ban abortions after 20 weeks)

OK, I just checked out the tally: http://capwiz.com/nrlc/issues/votes/?votenum=223&chamber=H&congress=1141

I was correct about the four pro-abortion “Republicans.”

I was correct about the three pro-life Democrats, and the fourth Democrat to vote for it was Langevin (hopefully this means that he’s returning to the pro-life fold after voting mostly pro-abortion for most of the past decade)

And it was a different GA conservative Republican that voted Present: freshman Jody Hice of GA-10 (Broun’s successor). I guess that Woodall realized that voting for the bill would di a lot more for eventually banning all abortion than to vote against it or to vote Present.

you are a whiz kid. Now, can you come up with a rebuttal to the cynics on this thread who seem to advocate a “do-nothing strategy” because doing anything indicates one is unaware of how bad our political situation is?

The Gospel: it cuts to the heart like a 2-edge sort. Except when dealing with a cynic.

FYI:
absent were 4 DEMS (Capps of CA, Hinojosa of TX, Brady & Boyle of PA) and one GOP (Barletta of PA) and by tradition Speaker Boehner does not vote.

I see Hice is another Mac Genius like Broun, just as I suspected.

And he (Hice) once said "abortion is worse than Hitler".

And here he votes "Obama" I mean "Present" on replacing Hitler with Mussolini.
