There is one reason for secrecy. They are doing something most people would oppose. If it was good for us, they wouldn’t need to hide it. And business agreements need not be secret because presumably everyone benefits or they wouldn’t enter the agreement.

This is treachery.

people have all this love and respect for the military...my parents and brothers and brother in laws and my husband all served....but I’m telling you...they can be bought off and they will follow orders no matter how tyrannical...

She was tougher with the Brigadier General who called her "ma'am." She should have declared co-equal branches and pushed her way in.

Sorry Babs. You broke it, you bought it. Cry me a river until he lines you up with the other useful idiots and those ‘guards’ reveal their lightning bolts.

1. Generality - Laws shouldn’t be specially carved out to benefit one group or to attack or harm a narrow group of individuals.

2. Prospectivity - This is the constraint on ex post facto laws. Laws should always apply in the future and never to the past.

3. Publicity - Laws should be broadly published and well known, both to the representatives themselves and general public.

4. Consent - Laws must be generally acceptable to those who will live by them.

5. Proper due process - Due process means that the law is meted out equally and fairly with each similar crime being treated the same. Justice must be blind.

This bill violates at least 3 of the above.

She’s only pissed because she isn’t as big of a piggie as she thought she was.

If this deal goes through there is legitimate grounds for impeachment and removal and this treaty will be null and void.

It should set precedent to declare all secret treaties as well as secret courts, null and void.

This country does trials and legislation in the open.

Consent of the governed. If this is done the governed have a right - and probably a duty - to revolt against it.

Democrats eating their own.

Boxer has been around since the Civil War and has been in and out of that “room” a million times. She knows very good and well that (according to Krauthammer) ALL trade agreements are by their nature kept secret. That is why they have the “secret room” and senators have never been allowed into it with camera devices or to take notes. They are to read and study the material or evidence, whatever, but there are rules.

When Dems get mad they pretend this is all a revelation, something new and nefarious, something they have never heard of before, or experienced.

It’s a crock. Boxer knows it. But, if it sells, she will have done her job at the theater of it all.
